You obviously know nothing about knee injuries.

How exactly are you going to strengthen ligaments?

To be clear you can strengthen your MCL, ACL, PCL and LCL pretty easily with balance exercises. But what do I know.

Super bad luck. Most of these are non contact injuries- pivot shift. It is the nature of the game, nothing to do with conditioning.

Clearly you are the one who knows nothing. There are ACL strengthening programs that rely heavily on stretches and plyometrics that have been proven to reduce ACL injuries.

No. You strengthen the muscles that support the knee not the ligaments. You cannot grow a ligament.

Sucks to hear. How many players is that now? SC has lost 15 players for the year. Couple that with our sanctions and we're sitting at 41 scholarship players right now. Good times.

Again, you strengthen supporting structures, not ligaments.

I'm an MSK radiologist. I'm not a trainer, or a rehab, or ortho, but I know about the pathophysiology of ligaments.

You can stabilize a knee to try and reduce injuries, but dear, on the athletes that football players are, these effects are probably negligible.

I'm sure the strengthening programs are more geared towards women, who have much higher incidence of ACL injuries.

To me, it sounds like you guys could possibly just need a different strength and conditioning coach, and all this will go away.

Also read that QB Tyler Murphy is day-to-day with a shoulder injury, and if our game was played today, he wouldn't play. Who do y'all have as Murphy's backup, if he can't go this Saturday?
