Obvious matchup to watch this weekend is our D line against Gurley and the run, followed by their rush defense and our running game.

How much, if at all, does it help having their former D line coach for scouting purposes?

Doesn't really matter. We're going to run the ball.

Montravious Adams is not in red and white this weekend.

A little bit different than that, but I don't think it's a huge impact at all.

Will help some. You will see some different things from our Dline. It will be motivation.

At this stage of the season, everybody knows the strengths and weaknesses. I would think the most any team could hope for would be to draw up a few plays to take advantage of this. Probably the biggest game changer is injuries. That's why coaches are so mum with that information.

Unlike Martinez and thig, Rodney knows the UGA schemes and what Grantham thinks which should help the O.

unless Rodney's up in the booth with binoculars reading Grantham's defensive signals and telling our offense their call (shout out to Nick Saban), it's not going to be any real advantage.

Having an understanding of schemes and tendencies is extremely important in game week preparation. It helps Nick Marshall recognize UGA blitz packages and reads, it helps Gus understand Grantham's philosophy on when to blitz more so than just observing film and it helps knowing how players fit in the system.

I never said he would read signals dumbfrick

Grantham has been coaching a few years now. He has a young D and not very good. All his schemes and tendencies are on film. My point is Garner cannot bring much more to the table that isn't already on film. He can offer some insight, but not a huge impact as some here may think.

settle down douchebag... Garner's got plenty of his own problems right now getting his DL ready for Gurley & Co... he's probably not sitting in the QB meetings going over defensive tendencies.
