I never bet on my home team but have the urge this morning with this line. AM I being a homer or is this line outrageous. Although everyone is predicting a shootout, I really think this will be the traditional defensive show down that this came has been in the past. Not 9 to 6 but will be close throughout. Take tigers or not?

Unless you bet a ridiculous amount of money, then winning the money isn't going to really add much to the thrill of winning the game. And losing the money would just suck worse.

So pocket the money and enjoy the game.

Right. I never bet an lsu game because I'm not just happy with getting the win , I need to cover.

Keep in mind that Vegas lines aren't set based on emotional decisions. If the line is set at a double digit mark, then they truly think that Bama is that much better of a team.

One rule to remember in handicapping and sports betting:

If a line looks too good to be true and has people using words like "lock" then either play the other side or pass on it.
