First trip to Bryant Denny. Will be on campus around 1:00. What to check out in and around camus before kickoff. Don't say Saban statue, I could care less about that.

Don't go to the Paul Bryant Museum! If you do, you'll leave an Alabama fan.

Go under the viaduct on 15th street by the railroad tracks and look for a Torino with no wheels on it. Now inside that Torino is my cousin Jack, now you tell him you're that you're my boy and you're lost and he'll make sure you get to where your goin' cause you don't want to know from me man, this ain't even my neighborhood.

The walk of champions is kind of interesting, but Gameday will be set up on it (What I hear, anyway.)

Start at the Quad where Denny Chimes is. There will be tons of stuff going on there. If you want a taste of campus, start at the same place and wander north.

Walk of 15 Champions is cool and all statues except for Saban is good. All are in front of the stadium.

Check out the area around the quad. Denny Chimes has the foot and handprints of all team captains dating back pre-WWII and the President's mansion is across the street from it. Straight down University is the Walk of Champions and BDS.

Ha, I doubt he'll do that! More than likely he'll learn how The Bear was an Alcoholic and was rumored to beat his wife. Also how he was accused of cheating his entire career.

Now coachcrisp- Go to The Bears statue, lay down your prayer rug, and let out a few "allah akbars"!!!

Denny Chimes and the Quad are a nice central focal point. I don't know if students today use the expression, but at least as far back as 1940, it was said about Denny chimes that "every time a virgin walked past Denny Chimes a brick would fall off."

My freakin GRANDmother told me that one, later confirmed by many (the "story," not the truth of the story).

rumored to beat his wife.

that is absolute calumny, never ever anyone rumored that ever. Pat Dye was the HC who supposedly threw his wife out of the house without any ... er ... coverings. But Paul Bryant was never anything but dotting about his wife. Shame on you.

You want to head West on 15th Street, across the railroad overpass. Once you're out that way, you can ask anyone you see where the fun stuff to do is. They'll be glad to help you.
