well bear won 6 and had like 4 other very near misses so IMO he has a decent way to go to be the undisputed GOAT for the modern era.

Overall all time is Knute Rockne

Ever heard of a guy named the Bear...I think he had a bit more staying power in a time of much greater changes in the game. Maybe you should look him up.

He loses in Tuscaloosa way too much to be considered GOAT. He needs a snapback for Bear's fedora.

Bear split most of his, had unlimited scholarships and half the competition. Disagree that Knute is in the discussion

Bear would have 1, maybe 2 NCs if he coached in the BCS era. Way more parity now.

He has to be when you consider his contributions to the game. For example he invented the presnap shift.

74 in my opinion. But why should you care about my opinion?

Alabama in 1958 was not the Alabama that Nick Saban took over. the Tide weren't even the best all time in the SEC when Bear came to town and were coming off a much worse period with Ears Whitworth than you were in 2007 when Saban took over a team 2 years removed from a 10-2 season. Sure they may have been less parity then but Alabama was not a major power then either.

Innovative and one of the Greats, but with the winning of championships as the criteria he falls short

If he wins 2/3 more at Texas then he is the GOAT

National Titles didn't exist the way they do today. Knute had 5 undefeated seasons and 5 other 1 loss seasons. Not to mention he was the greatest innovator in the history of college football. Oh and he accomplished all this by the time he died at the age of 43.

I'm sorry but you just don't know what you're talking about. Knute Rockne is the greatest coach in the history of college football and it really isn't debatable.
