"Arizona State athletic director Steve Patterson is leaving the Sun Devils for Texas, where he will take over the wealthiest athletic department in the country and a program facing serious questions about the job security of its football and men's basketball coaches as well as its president."

"Patterson's most immediate questions at Texas likely center on the future of the football coach Mack Brown"

Hiring their 8th choice AD is some big step in wooing Saban away from Bama? Color me unimpressed.

They really only care about one-upping A&M. There was no talk of firing Mack until last year when we had success and started taking their recruits away. Wake me up when they accomplish that.

I searched all through the article and found neither Alabama nor Saban mentioned. I was however able to spell both "Alabama" and "Saban" by extracting letters from various words used in the article. That makes me a little nervous because I was also able to spell "beejon is a dumbass" using the same method.

The article spelled Oliver Luck wrong. I'm not sure why the editor let that slide, but EVERYONE knows that Texas was going to hire Oliver Luck and then Luck was going to deliver Saban. In fact, I'm certain that a few LSU fans with sources said this very thing.

I suggest they change their name to The University of Mars.

No you see, because he doesn't know Saban, that is just the cover to throw all of us off the scent while indeed he is getting Saban.
What a clever strategy!
