Just saw where he is receiving votes for preseason all American. Didn't realize he was that good. Is it just being on duke that is causing this? He was good as a freshman at state, but not all American good. Right?

Yes, he was and is All-American good. I fear we'll learn just how good this year...

He's very good...but you can't deny that playing for Duke gets you a big bump in these types of rankings.

He left because of the culture on the team at that point in time. His decision was made well before the end of his freshman season and before the Stansbury decision came down.
Ray didn't do a good enough job of selling him on staying and the culture change either, so he's not without fault in the matter...

Of course it does on the front end...which we are seeing right now.

As others have said, he decided to leave before Stansbury was fired.

Yes & No
Yes - he did then changed his mind & wanted to stay
Sr. was the driving force behind this.

Not to mention he's never played a game at Duke and was voted team captain by his teammates. Pretty impressive guy. Hate he didn't stick around but can't blame him.

Sounds like a WAMSU moment to me

Frick you. No he did not. He stated him self that he left because "his coach left". Just stop lying...

And that was straight from his mouth in an interview.
And is if the reason was what the others stated, you can guarantee it was the nail in the coffin after Stans was fired.

So are either of you advocating we should have kept Stansbury?

I'm advocating telling it like it is.

Exactly. MSU first... then a coach.
Personally, I wanted stans to have one more year with what he had returning with Ware and Pollard coming in. If no change by mid season, begin the search.
It is what it is, there's no need in not being truthful about it.
Hood is that good, he deserves it.
Just for engie ... ONCE AGAIN.. "because my coach left"
quote:
In a piece by Andrew Beaton, Hood gives insight into the struggles he has faced since coming from Mississippi State and enrolling at Duke this fall. Per NCAA rules, he is barred from traveling with the team unless he pays his own expenses, often leaving him at home while his team makes its way around the country.
The biggest catch? Duke’s dorms are not outfitted with cable television.
quote:
“It’s almost like a prison, like you’re on punishment type of thing,” Hood told the paper. “It wasn’t like I just decided to leave [Mississippi State]. My coach left. I went to that school to play for that coach. When he left, I felt like a big part of me left, as far as the reason I went to the school.

Engie and Darkhorse, I sometimes wonder if you are actually a women as much as you like to bitch and complain and always try to make it seem you are right.
