Brandon Allen's gash stapled shut

Leg was cut on play that he was injured, required staple to close it. They didn't say how many, so I'm assuming one.
Came back and played, of course, with his leg wound stapled shut.
Earned a few toughness points with me, I've had staples.

After seeing the injury replay and the way he was reaching I was wondering if he just got cut open. Makes sense that he was able to come back and play.
For all those complaining about our glass quarterback, I'd bet he wouldn't even be allowed to stay in the game until it is closed.

I had 6-7 staples in my head. I was so pissed I didn't care at the time. Probably the maddest I've been in my life. That was about 10 years ago.

I believe Allen is tough mentally and physically. I think what he lacks in athleticism, he can make up with intelligence, and he does have a pretty good arm, as evidenced by his passing ability at the beginning of the season prior to his self-inflicted shoulder injury. I think once he's back to 100% and continues regaining confidence, he'll be fine. He just needs experience, which he's getting in spades right now.

If he's going to make up for athleticism with intelligence he'll need to learn not to throw pick sixes or throw into double/triple coverage.

Well, that's kind of what I meant by needing experience. He has shown that he can learn from mistakes. From what I understand, he's still having trouble with his shoulder, as well, which pisses me off more than anything since he did it to his own damn self.

If he would set his feet his accuracy would improve. Can't blame it all on his shoulder, which I concede might be causing problems.

Yeah, when it happened I said, "Great! Our freakin' QB is made of balsa wood!" I won't say another word about his toughness...this year.

woot wish they would have stapled his gash earlier, sometime before the rutgers game would have been good.
