How many elite college QBs has your school produced?

1. David Green is the first name I think of.
2. Murray is there, even without a ring he will lead the league statistically in total yards, total offense, and career passing tds.
3. DJ Shockley only started 1 season and he won the SEC. Is one season enough without going all CAM on em?
4. Stafford is obviously elite but he never even got to ATL.
Thats 2 going back less than 10 years for UGA. How many elite QBs have played at your school in the last decade? Ever?

You're going to have to define elite.

Peyton and Shuler are probably the only ELITE college guys.

3. Matt Flynn
4. Craig Nall
5. Zach Mettenberger
6. Rohan Davey
and some others I'm missing.

1. But he happens to be the GOAT. Some might define Tannehill as elite since he was a top 10 pick and he's a multi year NFL starter but I dunno

Has absolutely, positively nothing to do with his status in college. Was Terrell Davis elite at UGA?

Off the top of my head, you can say Cam, Pat Sullivan, Jason Campbell, and Dameyune Craig.
Past that, not much, and Craig and Campbell can be debatable.

I mean Tannehill had a solid career too. I'm also agreeing with you that he wasn't so you can go ahead and calm down

Elite? He was average as grits for 3 years then blossomed into a great QB his senior year. But would you really say he was an elite college QB?

I said he was open for debate.

Tebow

Our elite college qbs have three heismans and a runner up in the group...we win the college qb argument...bama or tenn got the pro one.

My bad, I missed the last sentence. Carry on.
For discussion's sake we should define what elite is. David Greene set the NCAA record for wins, but was never flashy. Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Kliff Kingsbury, and all those guys put up numbers by the truckload but it didn't matter. What's our criteria?

I don't know how you define elite. Bucky Richardson count? Jerrod Johnson? Corey Pullig? Kevin Murray?

Why, because he won a title? I don't think Chris Leak when I think elite QBs, although he did throw a frickin gorgeous spiral.

I just looked up Campbell's stats. I had no idea he is 4th all time in the SEC in Completion Percentage.

Pat Sullivan (Heisman Winner)
Cam Newton (Heisman Winner)
Dameyune Craig (All Around badass)
Jimmy Sidle (All American first QB to lead nation in rushing)
Jason Campbell (4th all time SEC completion percentage lead team to undefeated season top ranked team in 2004)
