Any chance an SEC player can win the Heisman this year? Or, are the SEC defenses just too hard core?

McCarron and Manziel are the SEC's last best hopes. That being said...I believe Mariotta or Winston will win the Heisman.

I don't think Johnny can win it by his own performance at this point. He needs the others to stumble.

AJ will only win it if Bama is undefeated, he has a couple more big games, and about 5 players above and around him collapse.

He would get killed against a regular SEC schedule.

I think AJ is a solid fourth place right now behind Mariota, Winston, and Manziel. Some voters may even say he's even with Manziel, only because AJ won and they want to humble JFF.

If Mariota gets exposed vs Stanford and Famous Jameis has a collapse game, AJ gets it if he stays under 5 INTs, goes 13-0, and has a big game.

I'm expecting him to already hit 3000 after the SECCG, at or over 30 TDs, and have 4 INTs.

McCarron isn't putting up the numbers. He won't get it without some kind of collapse or season ending injury to all of Winston, Manziel, and Marriota. If all that happened there's still Bridgewater and a couple others who have done a lot more that would probably pick up the regional votes - like Baylor players.

I think AJ likely gets an invitation, but more as a career recognition. IMO, it would be shocking if he wins the Heisman. He just doesn't have the gaudy numbers, with the exception of wins and INT/TD ratio. In this day and age, there are too many players on teams with wide open offenses and no defense who get twice the touches.

JFF won't get the Heisman because people want him to be more humble??? That's hilariously stupid.

By who exactly? SEC defenses aren't that great this year. Winston would torch most everyone in this conference.

Are y'all really claiming McCarron has a shot at the Heisman?

That would be an even bigger joke than Ingram's.

Are you really acting like he doesn't get Heisman talk?

Just in the past 24 hours Donald Trump has tweeted about him being underappreciated and Herbie and Musberger were hyping him while Oregon was playing.

Like I've said before, I think AJ gets there, but doesn't win it. If the others collapse, he definitely gets it.

ESPN and the media's pumping up J.Winston and the Oregon QB M. Mariota so they will probably get it.
