Knowing that we probably won't see Johnny Manziel or Mike Evans after this year, here are the scholarship players:
2010 Class (8)
QB - Joeckel
WR - Kennedy
WR - Williams
OL - Gramling
OL - Harrison
OL - Ogbuehi
DL - Robinson
DB - Honeycutt
2011 Class (14)
RB - Carson (transfer)
RB - Williams (transfer)
TE - Alexander
OL - Compton
OL - Cheek
DL - Taylor
LB - Baggs
DB - Burns
DB - Everett
DB - Matthews
DB - Raven
P - Kaser
K - Bertolet
K - Lambo (transfer)
2012 Class (12)
RB - Williams
WR - Holmes
WR - Pope
OL - Ifedi
OL - Matthews
OL - Tipoti
DL - Obioha
DL - Taylor
DL - Williams
LB - Hilliard (Transfer)
DB - Harris
DB - Marshall
2013 Class (30)
QB - Hill
RB - White
WR - Gonzalez
WR - Larue
WR - Parker
WR - Seals-Jones
WR - Tabuyo
WR - Williams
TE - Clear (Senior)
OL - Aguilar
OL - Stuckey (RS Sophomore)
OL - Wilson
DL - Arnold
DL - Golden
DL - Hall
DL - Manning
DL - Points
DL - Walker
LB - Chevis
LB - Claiborne
LB - Mastrogiovanni
LB - Sanders (Senior)
LB - Ward
LB - Washington
DB - Davis
DB - Ellis
DB - Garner
DB - Miles
DB - Sezer
DB - Wiggins
That's a total of 64 scholarship players. If the talk about Aguilar's injuries is true, that drops it to 63.
Out of the redshirt juniors, it is likely that at least two of them never see the field again, so that would drop it to 61.
That leaves 24 open scholarships, of which 2 can count towards 2013, due to only 23 players signing LOIs towards AY 2013.
I'm assuming we still plan on pulling in J.J. Gustafson as a gray shirt. Between Kyle Allen and DSG, one of them will count towards 2013, leaving 22 available scholarships.
As we currently have 15 committed, not including Gustafson, that would leave 10 additional spots for 2014.
If Hoza Scott doesn't qualify, who are the final 11 and do we sign that many?

I think at this point, we are only going after elite prospects, with the huge class last year and all the quality guys already in the fold, I don't think the staff needs to reach on anyone.
As far as the final 11, I think we get Nacho, one of Tucker/Braden Smith, Maybe a juco OL, Edwin Freeman, Qualen Cunningham, possibly a couple surprises.

I agree we need quality over quanity in this league we just can't afford to take a bunch of chances on guys we hope will pan out
