When Sylve got hurt, Fulton was the 1st to come in. He got a couple series, then Cyrus came in for several series. Jackson, who looked great in his start 3 weeks ago, just played at the very end.
So Cyrus, Fulton, and Jackson have all had games where they either started or played significant minutes and also had a game where they barely played in a blow-out.
So what's going on here? Are they being protected because of mild injuries? If so, why put them in right at the end? Is CNS experimenting? Is he trying to teach certain players lessons?

Im so fricking confused about all this as well. Jackson played on special teams early.
Also why the hell is Geno at safety and Fulton at corner? Swap maybe?

I believe Eddie Jackson is currently hampered by a sprained ankle. They really haven't needed him the last three games. It makes sense to give him time to heal.

I think we have guys that can play multiple positions and saban is just trying to find a way to get everyone as much experince as possible.
He is just playing head games to see how they mentally adjust to different situations.
Intelligence is measured in how quickly and how well you can adapt to change.
So basically, Saban is a genius.

Pretty sure this is what Saban's CB depth chart looks like, has string strewn about the athletic complex.
So next week, Pepe Silvia will start at CB opposite Belue.

I want to know what blackmail Fulton has on Saban. He is great against air I guess.

Fulton looked so good when he played last year. I don't know what happened. You could argue his Spring injury has hurt him, but I think he just played with something to prove last year and this year that isn't the case.
BELUE THOUGH!
He has been soooo good this year and no one is talking about him.

CJ Mosley was pretty good in coverage tonight. I say Saban puts him at corner, A'Shawn Robinson at MLB, and Eddie Jackson at NT. Maybe throw AJ McCarron at DE.

Still a top level D?
No, but I bet CJ could play Safety if he wanted.

I'm hoping it like a year or so ago with our O'line when we were mixing and moving players for the 1st few games.
Once we nailed down a position for each guy they took off.
I think Saban puts a lot of emphasis on each DB knowing what the other DB's responsibility is. Each guy on the same page. They learn this quicker by playing each position.
I would like for Geno to step up his game along with LC. Eddie Jackson looks like a natural if he can learn the defense quickly.

I think I now remeember that Jackson got chewed out on the sidelines a couple of games ago, he may have just got bumped down for that and the injury.

Someone on BOL--a user, not staff--said he's been in trouble for not going to class. Take that for however much its worth.

John Fulton needs to cover the Gatorade Coolers that is all.

If we make it to the national championship game this year, I will personally buy John Fulton a ticket to Miami.

On Geno Smith: He's doing well in multiple roles as he transitions to safety from cornerback. Also playing at Star. "He's a bright guy."
-- Safety Landon Collins will step win with Jarrick Williams backing him up. This is more of Collins' natural position.
On the safety position: Landon is good in every role he's asked to play. He was Vinnie's backup. In nickel, Jarrick Williams is the star. In dime, Geno Smith comes in.

He busts his arse just like everyone else for the University of Alabama. Its easy to rag on our players behind a computer screen, isnt it?
