Anyone else starting to think we should have hired Gus?

Gus is coaching players he recruited 3 years ago. It is in no way fair to judge based on that.

Long-term, it's unclear. But I do think we would have been better this year with Gus. We likely would be playing the correct Brandon at QB.

No, he walked into a different situation. There are players there he was recruiting for this same system.....while they did suck last year they did have a lot of talent still. Easier to win at auburn quicker than here.

A lot of us expected to be as good as or better than Auburn this year.

That's a great question.

I love 2B's philosophy over GM, but I think its easier to recruit to GM's than 2B's. If that makes sense.

I hate threads like this. Both walked into completely different situations.

No- it might turn out to be the case but at this point it's way too early to call.

FYI, I saw auburn fans bitching throughout their game about Gus' play calling- he's not perfect even to them.

Who knows Tenns coach may prove to be the best of the bunch.

I agree, it's too early to call.

Its a reasonable question to ask, and lots of people will be saying it if Auburn whips us.

I still think we made the right hire.

No one predicted Brandon Allen to be worse than Casey Dick.

Sure, but does BB take none of the blame for that? He had another option at QB and chose to let him transfer.

I'm not trying to trash Bielema, but I do think he deserves some blame for the year we're having. I also think Gus deserves some credit for turning around Auburn so quickly, even if he did walk into a somewhat better situation.

Allen beat him out. Let that sink in a moment.

I wanted Gundy over both of them, although it was never clear to me if we had a real shot at him.

I would have been fine with Gus. I'm reserving judgement on BB for a yr or two

Well yeah, he beat him out because Bielema chose him over Mitchell. The question is whether or not it was right decision.

Somewhat? Seriously? The talent gap was more than somewhat.
