Look it is obvious that the sec is not willing to add teams in states that they already have a presence, they are looking to expand their footprint. So with that said FSU and Clemson are out. Who do you add NC schools seem pretty happy with new ACC, so I think you look to Big 12, maybe a Kansas, a huge basketball power, but not a lot of tv sets, but they do bring a large national fan base and following, maybe Oklahoma? will OU leave without OSU?

It would look like this:

West:
Mizzou
Kansas
Oklahoma
A&M
Arkansas
Ole' Miss
MSU
LSU

East:
UGA
Florida
Kentucky
Auburn
South Carolina
Vandy
Tennessee
Bama

Or go to a north and south divisions:

North:
Mizzou
Kansas
Ole'Miss
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Vandy
Kentucky
Arkansas

South:
A&M
Auburn
Bama
LSU
UGA
Florida
South Carolina
Mississippi State

We'll add a team from North Carolina and one from Virginia. Mizzou will be shipped West.

I agree that Basketball should be a consideration. Although college basketball as a whole has been suckified by the one and done rule, SEC basketball is especially putrid for the most part.

No way would Kansas ever be let in.

Vandy/Kentucky would absolutely destroy KU football annually, that's how low KU is on the totem pole.

thats why I think you can afford to take a bad football program in favor for a second major basketball program

Kansas, good grief dude, let's leave them in our rear view mirror where they belong. Football and tv sets sets the agenda for any future expansion. Something that state or school can't produce, regardless of their national following in basketball.

Personally, the last thing I want is ku in the same conference as us. I enjoy being away from them and like our future here.

Yeah, it's hard to even fathom Kansas' level of terrible in football. Mark Mangino's performance there was awe inspiring, truly.

Yeah. No desire to add another XII, especially from a prairie state.

If the goal is to add viewers to the SEC-N footprint, then the eastern front is where to draw from.

That said, more expansion is at least a decade away.

I'm not familiar enough with balance sheets and revenue to know for sure, to be honest, but I can't imagine taking a school with a football program that heinously bad regardless of their basketball draw.

Those North/South divisions couldn't be more unbalanced.

I like that north division. The SEC needs to learn to subtract not add though.

If I had a vote, I'd vote for KS just for the Mizz meltdown that would ensue.

Yeah, lets create more barriers between us and a final 4.

As much as I would enjoy returning to pulverizing kU in FB every year, I think I would prefer to watch them fade away to nothing after the B12 implodes

Oklahoma would own the north division, and people would die in the south division in football

Totally agree. We will always be a football power. We need to market ourselves as a better basketball conference if we want to keep the best players in the South home. Kentucky needs a rival like UNC to make this a respected basketball conference. Expand the footprint, both in geography/population as well as into a new sport.
