just a quick question for the OT.

Does anyone use a different name when making reservations?

When I make reservations at a restuarant or whatever I use power names like Rockefeller, Carnegy, or some local wealthy family names. Seems to get us expedited services and more attention placed on our reservations. Any one else do this? and does it have a effect on the level of service you receive?

I've heard of folks doing that, but never done it myself.

Honestly I usually get good service wherever I go but that's probably because I just work the cordial customer angle to a fault

It honestly started as a experiment for me back in my early 20's and it proved true, was just wondering if anyone had done anything similar.

My actual last name carries a lot of weight in the northern Georgia, Tenn, and NC areas. Which is where the experiment started as I would visit my father in Georgia, we would always get top shelf service and personal greetings/visits from restuarant owners etc..

Awesome week coming up. The temps in Georgia are about to plummet. Awesome for fishing...

When I go to NOLA, we are good friends with a pretty prominent person there. Whenever we go out (with or without him), we use a phrase he told us and we can get a table or in a bar(at most places) almost instantly

A little mini vacation.

It's awesome. We can go down there and have the beach to ourselves and never have a wait for a restaurant.
