Is Robinson vs Treadwell the next PP7 vs Julio?

BR talking heads are saying this is the game Robinson locks up a corner spot for good. Was awesome watching Peterson and Jones do battle from freshman year to the draft. Think we see that kind of thing out of these two?

Hargraves isn't playing in this game so no.

Robinson won't be as good as PP7 and Treadwell won't be as good as Julio.

And Hargreaves won't play Treadwell every year he's at Ole Miss... The point was we watched the two develop against each other and as a fan it was awesome to witness. Suspend your homerism for a sec. Will this matchup be as compelling?

He played against Kent State, Mississippi State, and Florida. He'll be good, but he hasn't been that impressive. PP7 is one of the best SEC CBs of all time, comparing a Freshman to him is silly.

PP7 wasn't all-world his freshman year. Robinson has done very well so far, comparing them as freshmen is reasonable. The guy who trained both thinks it's fair.

Maybe so, and I'm sure he'll be great, but at this stage he hasn't played anybody worth a damn. Mike Evans is arguably the best WR in CFB this year, but when Deion Belue covered him he didn't do shite. We're not claiming Belue is elite (though he has been great this year, outside of OM and A&M, he hasn't played any WRs of note) because you need a full season of work to start saying someone is going to be as good as a guy like Peterson.

Treadwell and Robinson(?) will never be in the same league as PP7 and Julio.

Ole Miss will have to find a QB first.

Other than them not being as good and the game having no national implications....sure.

I think Robinson will be a great one, I think All SEC in upcoming years is a definite possibility, and maybe even 1st round draft pick talent. No denying he has the size, instincts, and talent to be a great one. However, PP7 was elite and while the production on the field may be similar as Freshmen, I think their was no doubt PP7 had a much much higher ceiling. His size and speed for a corner are unmatched. Most talented corner in SEC history. I could see him being more like Claiborne

I guess.
Good luck in beating that powerhouse of West Georgia.

If/when they both get drafted, they sure will be in the same league.

Is it possible they could play against each other once before making a comparison like this? IMO, neither freshmen are as talented as the guys they are being compared to.

When Dieon Belue started covering Mike Evans, we went on a 42-7 run, and their offense overall was not nearly as effective. Fulton started the game on Evans because he is bigger before Belue started covering him. Once Belue got hurt, Evans started really producing again which also corresponded to their 21-7 run.
Most of his yards were on Fulton and not Belue. Belue slowed him down although didn't completely stop him as far as I can remember.
