I think the chickens get us by a field goal 34-31. I think Shaw makes some big runs and Spurrier gets us again. Should be a good game though.

This game is always closer than it should be. I don't expect a win, but it certainly wouldn't be the craziest upset this year.

We do lack speed on the edge, which really hurts us when trying to defend a mobile QB. That's the biggest mismatch on the field.

Should be good. I think the vols have shown a ton of improvement this year no matter what their record is.

I hope Mizzou's solid beatdown in Athens this past Saturday puts UT's moral victory against UGA into perspective... but probably not...

USCe is 2 TDs better than UT... they're more talented at every position except OL (which is probably closer than most vols would admit).

31-17 gamecocks.

They have way better offense, defense, QB, experience, you name it. Butch will have to pull something out of his arse too keep this game close.

The gamecocks have a better QB and of course there is clowney.. davis is having a hell of a year but to say they are more talanted at every position is a stretch

I've always thought of all the bigger games for UT, SC is the most likely for an upset.

watch the games, my man... I think Butch has done a solid job, too... but you can't deny the fact that they are at least two years away from reaching USCe in the talent department.

QB and DL are just the most glaring examples... but it's all across the board, except OL.

Signed,
Arkansas

but it should be a good game as it usually is. SC fans shouldn't let last weeks win mask our problems. Our defense still has a tendency to give up big plays.

As mentioned before this game over the past 10-12 years has tended to be closer than it should be. And that goes for games in which either team was a heavy favorite.

In Neyland, with a week off for Butch to heal and prepare. UT could have some magic in this game. Of course I could also be jaded by what UGA had to endure in Knoxville. Is there still a turf debate?

I copied this from the SC Board

As far as how we match up, I look at the Stats, we're better than UT in just about all of them. I put who is statistically "better" in BOLD.

Statistically, USC should be able to overload them. We'll see if that happens though in Kneeland Stadium.

You can't look past ANY SEC opponent, especially one in their house. And with the Vols it's true the games are always close, a series in recent years - especially in the 2000s - that resembles USC's series with UGA in how closely contested they usually are...

On paper however, this game looks fairly similar to the Arkansas game for USC: like the Hogs, the Vols come in with a very poor passing offense. They WERE last in the league until USC held Arky to 30 total yds passing: now they are next-to-last in the league to Arky.

The biggest thing that has hurt USC has been their defense - particularly their passing D - in late stages of games. Arkansas was not able to capitalize on that, and as a result USC's defense held strong and actually dominated.

Will UT's passing attack - ranked 113th in the nation - take advantage better than Arkansas' passing O was able to?

Otherwise, on paper, Arkansas' defense is better than Tennessee's in pretty much every single statistical category. USC's offense has been flexing lately, and WR Shaq Roland - USC's leading receiver when he was suspended 3 games ago due to school policy violation - will be back this Saturday.

The big difference between UT and Arky will be that UT got a shot of confidence from their game vs UGA, and they have had 2 weeks to game-plan for the Gamecocks and heal up some bruises. It will be a great game, for sure....

Cut your grass with a lawn mower this week please. Do not use those mountain goats to trim it as it appeared were used before the UGA game.

Will be close, but this is the kind of game Carolina loses. UT having an off week to get their heads together is pretty big.
