What do yall expects from dl and lb's vs LSU? Looks like Arkansas had success running the ball. Their rb's were averaging 4 yards per carry.

I think Arkansas had like 80 rushing yards or something in the 1st quarter. Then the defense adjusted and they had like 35 the rest of the game.

LSU will definitely move the ball. We dropped a lot of passes in that game.

Arkansas rushed for 81 yards and 1 TD in the first quarter, on 10 carries, averaging 8.1 YPC and shredding Florida.

The rest of the game?

19 carries, 30 yards for 1.6 YPC.

So yeah, Florida played a shitty first quarter. But Florida did't give up ANYTHING the rest of the game.

Florida adjust well.

First quarter of UK, Miami, Arky

Defense had issues. By half time we had fixed them and by the fourth most of then haven't even doubled their first quarter offense.

We kind of see what you're doing, and adjust to stop it. Arky ran well, we shut the run down and forced them too pass.

Our O-line has been pretty flaky. I'd love to see some more consistent 4 to 6 to 10 yard runs. But even if they stop us most of the time, Hill still has to bust a long one or two.

LSU is going to be able to move the ball. The question is can they string together long drives and end with TDs.

So Arkansas didn't have the athletes on oline to compete for more than 1 quarter

I think we run on yall, and often and wear you guys out

Against Georgia Hill had 86 yards rushing on 21 attempts with 1 touchdown. That means he averaged just over 4 yards a carry.

He also had 4 receptions for 44 yards which gave him 130 all purpose yards and 1 touchdown for the game.

He wasn't spectacular but I wouldn't call that "shutting him down"

They stuffed him quite a bit of times, to where it forced several 3rd and longs. Mett and the receivers were able to pick up several of those. I think the Florida secondary is much better than Georgia's and won't consistently give up 3rd and 13s. All the more reason to establish a consistent running game, and reason to be concerned about prior ho-hum rushing performances.

21 carries for 86 yards averaging slightly over 4 yards a carry is not shutting a running back down. Not a great game by the standard he has set for himself, but far from "shut down".

I too think LSU is gonna put up decent yardage on Florida. But Florida is going to be really stingy in the redzone, and they're not gonna give up many big plays of 40+ yds that other teams have given up so far.

The grass makes bigger holes for RBs in TS.
