Eta: Updated - Source: https://football.stassen.com/records/opponent.html

Note: The data source is Stassen. Stassen does not recognize games played at a "club" level, or those predating roughly the turn of the 20th Century, or there abouts. Each individual program is different but this explains the Stassen db numbers versus numbers published by individual universities and some other dbs. The difference in numbers for some of the longer running series are usually three to four games. You are welcome to add the club level played games in the thread if it makes that much of a difference.

Somebody give my noob Yankee arse the full story on why Georgia-Auburn is so much markedly more played than Bama-Auburn. I'm aware of Georgia-Auburn being the oldest SEC rivalry but don't have the full scoop on why Bama-Auburn isn't even close. What the dealio

Also, Mizzou-kansas would be at the top of that list by comparison, second oldest rivalry in the country behind Wisconsin-Minnesota...or at least it had been until they pussied out on us. 120 games.

49 of those were out of conference. That's gotta be up there in terms of non-con total games played.

Auburn recognized early on that you can't have a competitive endeavor with Bama fans because they don't understand civility, decorum, and proportionality. This was confirmed as a great decision after Alabama Superfan Representative Harvey Updyke carried out the will of Updyke Nation and lashed out at Auburn because they had the gall to win in Brian Dennehy stadium in 2010.

We never really stopped hating each other either... not sure why they thought we should be playing each other again ;p
