...ever since he signed I was expecting him to be a starter at some point yet yr after yr he gets passed up on the depth chart. Was he overrated out of HS or just never able to grab hold of Sabans scheme?

The fact that his name is pronounced "Ta-Nay" instead of "Tan-Uh" like I was to call him is the only reason he's not already a pro bowler IYAM

John Hog Hannah?
Hometown: Albertville, AL
Years lettered: 1970-72

Richard Cole?
Hometown: Crossville, AL
Years lettered: 1964-1966

Richard played on two national championship teams and should have been on a third, but the national pollster decided in 1966 to give the number one spot to a once tied Notre Dame team instead of an undefeated and untied Alabama team. Richard was an All-Amercan in 1966.

John graduated from Albertville. Charles and David from Baylor Prep. Charlie Pell played at Albertville also. Howard Cross was from New Hope. Not many in last several years, but ever is a long time.

John Hannah recenty had his high school jersey reitred from Albertville High School. The Hannah's lived a couple of miles from my husband's homestead. His father, Herb, is buried in a cemetery a few miles from my house. John was not born in Alabama, but he is definitely considered a part of Albertville.

Friday morning, the Albertville Chamber of Commerce and Albert ville City Schools Foundation honored the 2011 Albertville High School Wall of Fame Charter Class at a luncheon at the Albertville High School Gymnasium.
Four members of the Wall of Fame Charter Class - John Hannah, Rusty Greer, Robert "Hal" Hayes and Charley Pell - are also members of the Marshall County Sports Hall of Fame.

I was going more for the northern portion of the state in general. The point being most people seem to think north Alabama is devoid of talent.
