I disagree, didn't like the play call but that is not what lost it.

Nobody foucuses on TD. There is no depth on this team. Picks post 1 round rarely are major contributors. Oline sucks, LBs are in tatters, all the picks and talent are in Ryan and WRs. That is the ONLY strength of this team. I can understand why the Smith/TD combo is held in high esteem respective of the Coon's past when they got there, and hey, job well done. But you could see this coming as the majority of drafts choices beyond Jones and Spoon under this administration at at best passable starters but nothing special.

In TD we trust indeed.

There is a fricking bubble around the city of Atlanta causing our teams to never be able to execute.

Do you consider trading Gonzalez to a contender like New England or Green Bay to try and get something for him while letting him try and go get a ring on his way out?

What would the falcons get for him? A fourth or fifth round pick?

Ive been saying something similar since the Julio acquisition. TD was hell bent on getting him no matter how many draft picks it cost. most of you like to laugh me out of threads when I say it was a mistake but, it doesn't matter what kind of badass JJ is if the rest of the team isn't built with quality depth and the OL cant keep your 100MM QB upright long enough to find an open receiver.

I like TDs balls out attitude. Has it hurt our depth? Sure. But no team handles losing a LT well. The sheer # of injuries would be difficult for any team to overcome.

For me its Smith. The guy makes head scratcher decisions weekly, and has for years now. The talent TD has provided covered it up for a while.

Completely agree. Dimitrioff is the next Matt Millen. Nobody can win with the crap he drafts and gets in FA. He pulls in one home run guy to distract the fans and shits the bed on almost every other pick up.

Fire Thomas Dimitrioff.

Not sure what team you've been watching, but it hasn't been these Falcons. I've only been seeing the overall talent level of the team decrease the last few years. We have a few big time, elite talents and a couple of guys that came out of nowhere. On the other side of the coin we have shite like Sam Baker and 95% of TD's moves have been more like that fat, t-rex-armed son of a bitch than Julio.

If the Falcons had a defense you could flip the W's and L's

Mike Smith is a great coach.

It's not his fault the Falcons have lousy players.

Fire Dimitroff.

100% agree here. Long term success in the NFL is predicated on identifying and developing talent. While not flopping on 1st round picks is important, it's equally important to get good value in the next 6 rounds IMO. There are always talented guys who don't get drafted too. While it's great that Jones and Spoon are solid players, we overpaid on Jones because TD showed his hand and was smitten with him and I'm not still not as enamored with Spoon as I'd like. I think that when he's healthy he's above average but by no means a homerun pick.

Not gonna say that Mike Smith is the greatest coach but a lot of the calls he gets blasted for are things that 95% of other coaches would have made the same way more often than not. The team has struggled in short yardage situations under him and I can never get a read if it's poorly designed plays or just a complete lack of talent on the O-line + desire by a previous RB that was fat and lazy whose name rhymes with Rykel Burner.

I'd be interested to see if the team just packs it in and looks for a better draft but to be honest, I don't know that Dimitroff would have any better luck picking 2nd or 3rd in each round than he has been at 25+...
