It seems like it to me. Back in 08-11 when ever an SEC team played out of conference (especially in the bigger games) everyone would unite and cheer for the team. It is what helped the SEC become the beast that it is. The S.E.C. chant became a staple in big game victories. Lately it seems people are getting a Big 12/10 attitude and only care about their team. What caused this?

I blame Trayvon, Obamacare, Game of Thrones spoilers, and the Dexter finale, but not necessarily in that order.

Obama happened.

But seriously I think it's because back then we were proving that the SEC was head and shoulders over all the other conferences. Now that is just common knowledge.

The only time I will pull for an SEC team other than my own is the NC game or playoffs. Any other time I love watching you assholes lose.

I still like the SEC to represent itself well OOC (unfortunately UF has done a poor job of that the past couple opportunities) but I definitely won't be cheering for Bama to win if the make the national championship again this year. 4 out of 5 is obnoxious.

"What caused this?"

Your BAMA'S favored treatment to win a BCS??? Maybe????

Edited to add: I used to be a diehard SEC fan- LSU first any other SEC fan next. Now its LSU first, SEC less Bama, everybody else then..................................................................................................Bama unless they are playing Pakistan, Somalia , Libya etc

No such thing as SEC Allegiance IMO.

People just say that post-fact to feel good when their teams don't do well.

I think the whole "cheer for the SEC" thing was way overblown to begin with.

That makes sense. I just wonder if us going our own way will speed up our downfall. When a team would lose back then another SEC team would step up and get a victory to keep the ball rolling. I can remember coaches mentioning how (a SEC team) should have won certain games and built up other schools teams in press conferences. Now it's just everybody bashing each other win they lose games pushing that team even further down.

You can get favored treatment to get INTO the game, not win it.

Was nothing stopping LSU from simply winning the championship game.

You lost because you lost.

So Bama, one of the main contributors to the allure of the SEC strength, is the reason the allegiance is falling apart?
