Do we automatically start talking about winning the east? Toughest games after Georgia are at home and honestly Florida and USCe haven't impressed me that much. I'm not one to look too far ahead..i know better..but is this going to be the mentality if we somehow wake up next Sunday 6-0?

we can talk about it now. but it will take beating UGA and probably UF before we can get excited at the thought.

I'm just going to enjoy the moment. Not the end of the world if we go to a top 10 UGA and lose. As to your point though, I saw a thread asking that exact same question yesterday. The OP and nearly the entire first page or two were non-Mizzou posters talking about it. Whether it happens or not, it's just good to be in the discussion more than 1/3 of the way through the season.

No. I mean people will. But we shouldn't. A 3-loss team isn't winning the East (at least I don't think so). So we'll need to beat SC before we start talking about winning the east.
That still leaves really tough games with Florida and A&M and games that will not be gimmes with Tennessee and at Ole Miss.

Georgia got through the hardest portion of their schedule with only 1 loss. In 5 games, they played Clemson, SC, LSU and UT. If Mizzou gets through UGA, SC, UF and UT with only 1 loss, then there might be a shot.

We lose one in the east to either SC or Florida and lose to A&M... where does that put us?

Then we have a fighting chance.

Dude you have to run the gauntlet. If you can beat UGA, UF and USCe then and only then can you talk about winning the east.
Going to be a tough 4 weeks for you guys though.

frick, I'll take a win in one of the three and be happier than a pig in shite compared to what I expected at the beginning of this season. The fact that beating Georgia is even being talked about like a realistic possibility makes me giddy with the joy that only a man that's been to a strip club while underaged could understand.

So right Mizzeaux. I just loved the fact that there was a thread on the rant talking about Mizzou's chances to win the east, and it wasn't a Mizzou or non-Mizzou troll thread. No mizzou posters either last I checked.

Just a heads up, but the thread I just made on the rant is mostly serious, some trolling intent, but mostly serious.

...I will be too busy jizzing all over anything that moves, plus a good number of inanimate objects, to ponder any of the sort of insight that the OP entails.

Do we quickly forget what happened when we beat OU?
Everybody was celebrating and the team was treated like rockstars.
The next week by Nebraska.
If you really want to win the East, each game is just another notch in your belt to get there. Celebrate after the game and wake up the next day and move on to your next opponent.

These two situations are not even remotely similar.

I would like to point out that Georgia played @Tennessee last week and now they are pretty beat up.
We get Florida at home next week, after they spend this weekend battling @LSU
We get SC at home the week after that. One week after they play @Tennessee.
We go to Tennessee the next week right after they get back from playing @Alabama
Both Kentucky and Ole Miss are away games where they have basically no contest the week before.
Lastly we get A&M at home, one week after they also have to go play @LSU.
Food for thought.
