From my perspective, A&M has the worst defense in college football, but they have the most dynamic offensive skill player in the country, JFF.

If we can keep Johnny in the pocket and get pressure on him, i think we can slow their offense down and control the clock with our power running game...thoughts?

I think we lose a close one but would be thrilled to be wrong.

They have JFF and that one WR. If we can stop those two, we'll win. Their D is, by far, the worst in the league.

Double team Mike Evans?
Really can't let them run on us though. I think we'll have a better shot if we limit them to their passing game only. This may mean risking a lot of deep balls etc., but otherwise you risk Manziel scrambling like a madman.

If we can capture lightning in a bottle a few times in that game I would say it is possible, due to that bad defense.

We have trouble with running qbs and jff is the ultimate.

The way we defended the read option and had our DEs contain the outside run game and inside run game I would say it is possible. Clearly there is a shite ton of athleticism.

I think the biggest wildcard would be Mike Evans and if someone can defend him. Our DBs are pretty short. Plus, if we double him consistently, their backup WRs are ultra talented.

We would need a freak game offensively with little mistakes and long balls that were accurate and actually caught by our WRs. I truly believe that our run game will be able to shove yards down their throat and it will open the pass.

Offensively we just have to pray we get a few stops not actually stop them consistently since that seems impossible considering our D and their O

No. We don't have the defense to stop Manziel consistently. Heck, I don't know who does.

But I'd like for once for Gus to open up this offense and show us what all this HUNH guru talk is all about. Our defensive line played the game of its life Saturday, and Gus' ultra-conservative playcalling nearly cost us the game. Game should've never been that close (though he can't control fumbles).

I just don't want JaQuay Williams to have the game of his life against us. That's all I really am asking to not happen.

We will put up points, but they are going to shred us deep. Hopefully Lawson and company will put JFF on his back a few times, but that's a lot easier said than done.

49-34 A&M

We have a history of talented WRs shredding us adn add in a mobile QB, which we don't defend well, I just don't see us stopping them enough to outscore them.

We make too many mistakes offensively to win on the road in a difficult stadium due to a rejuvenated fanbase that has that offense.

We fumble, throw INTs have inopportune holding calls and kill drives too often to consistenly score at the needed rate

I understand all that but revenge and pride from being embarrassed before have a strange way of sharpening focus and lack of focus is why those mistakes you noted happened. A talented team with revenge and pride on it's mind is a very, very dangerous opponent. I don't think this game can be accurately predicted on Xs and Os alone.

Is that the names of our new LB starters?
Are they big, strong and fast?
Are they NFL prototypes?

Bo Wallace proved you can go deep on us. LSU had some good pass plays downfield.

I think Manziel shreds us early putting the game out of reach. Similar to LSU but pass plays instead of run.

I agree unfortunately. Our DBs are miles ahead from the last few years though. I'm actually really surprised our D is this much better in year one of the Gus era. Hopefully EJ will get our guys ready for the pass attack and we should be able to score on them consistently but if we can't slow down Evans were screwed. Hope our DBs get in the zone pre-game.
