Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State have weak programs right now. It seems that they both took two steps back from last year.

But which one is better?
Ole Miss has one more win than State, but State has played 1 more ranked opponent than Ole Miss has.

Judging from the only game that is comparable so far (the Auburn game), it looks like State has the slight advantage. Mississippi State at one point in the game was leading Auburn. Not only did Ole Miss never have the lead at any point during the game, but in the 3rd quarter, they were trailing by 18 points.

What does the SECr think?

AU game is not a good way to judge which is better IMO.

We are a good bit better today than we were 3 weeks ago vs MSU.

Both somehow lost to Auburn so I guess State is less shitty because they lost by fewer points.

Honestly, all schools should be better as the season goes on. I am sure Ole Miss and State have both progressed too.

we're better if we start Dak the rest of the way. we keep fooling around with Russell and they'll beat us again. if not i think we can restore order.

We played 2 totally different Auburn teams. MSU got them early and had a shite opponent before. Ole Miss had to play them after a bye week and right after we got raped by Alabama. Auburn has gotten a lot better as the year has progressed.

Now after saying that, I think both teams are about the same. Neither has beaten anyone of note and I doubt they will. Ole Miss will probably have the better record at the end of the year, but only by 1-2 games and that depends on the Egg Bowl.

Last year Ole Miss got better and better as the season went on and MSU seemed to get worse (mostly due to their competition getting better). This year I'm not sure what is going to happen, but there is 7 more chances to find out.

I agree with this, but State looked a hell of a lot better against LSU than they did against Auburn. Both teams have come a good way since that game.

State I think. Decent O and a stiff front seven. Ole Miss leads with guys whose last name starts with a silent N though 2-0.
