Why exactly is it the people cant speak their mind about certain negative aspects about coaching or player performances. Reminds me of dealing with women. How you have to frame even criticisms in the form of compliments . "You look slightly less awesome than usual honey!"

Being a UGA football fan is not an easy life. Its knowing normally that any given saturday your hopes and expectations could get crushed by a garbage team like Kentucky or UT or or UCF.

Its one thing to be a negative dumb arse all the time. But seems like alot of you shitheads just gang bang anybody that points out obvious causes for concern these days. We win one nailbiter against a decent team and yall act like anybody that ever said something negative about Richt, Murray, Bobo, etc has been proven to be stupid. Its an interesting phenomenon

Because when it comes down to it its a fricking game none of us have any part in other than deciding where to go to college and it's annoying seeing everyone bitch and moan when we win a game after 3 star players had devastating injuries.

Since when is that relevant in regards to having expectations of coaches that make millions of dollars working for a public university most of us have supported all our lives

Its not just yesterday's game by a long shot. Its been all year. After the USC and LSU wins, people were coming out of the woodwork with "Fire Richt??!! " threads and such. Like theyd been redeemed for all the shitty letdown seasons that the man made 4 or 5 million dollars for total mediocrity. Its embarrassing

Like i said, its one thing to be a constant negative loser. Its another to point out obvious causes for concern with a staff that gives you excuses on either one side of the ball or the other year after yeat

Before our injuries I thought there would be no real excuse for anything short of the SEC championship this year. Now I feel like we could drop one somewhere.

Does anyone not hate CTG at this point?

I would be surprised.

Every week I look to see if we have improved. I see how our defense has improved each week. Is it a good defense. Absolutely not. It will NOT be a good defense this year. However, I think it was awful against Clemson...a little better against South Carolina (based on rising up in a crucial situation)...and much improved against North Texas (based on I saw we stopped the inside run)...and we even showed improvement against Tennessee based on they improved at stopping the outside runs.

I tend to jump to the defense of the coaches because I see so many that scream the coaches ..."can't win the big game." "Horrible play callers" or "the defense is a dumpster fire"

I try to tell the criticizers, not to just criticize, but ask yourself why? or is ti legitimate. Why is the defense bad? Look at all the inexperience. No coach could do well in that situation. (Don't get me wrong...last year we should have done much better, so i am not a Grantham apologist, either.) Can Richt win a big game? Well, we are one of a few teams that beat two top 10 teams, so what do you think? Bobo was criticized for so long for his play calling, yet all of a sudden he is a genius? nope. he just has good running backs. There are reasons certain plays are called in certain situations.

I guess, I am just saying it is better to ask why than to just jump on a "fire the coach" bandwagon every time something doesn't play out like you think it should.

Richt had a lot of seasons of total mediocrity? Seriously? Wow. One of the top winningest coaches in college football....and the biggest winning coach in Georgia history. Wow. Georgia must never have been very good.

I was more disappointed with the job last year, than the job this year. Last year we were loaded and never played up to our talent. this year we are COMPLETELY rebuilding the defense with young players and showing improvement in areas every single week.

Objectively I never felt that our defense would be championship level and now that our offense is devastated I would not be surprised to see us lose to Missouri, Florida or Auburn. Honestly we will be lucky to win the East and our prospects vs Bama (assuming they make it) look worse than last season. To me last season was our best chance to win a NC during Richt's tenure. For a change, we had enough talent on defense albeit they underachiever under Grantham and we had the offense as well. That failed played on Bama's 5 yard line in the SECCG still haunts me.....

What is hard for you to understand. Yes, you can win 9 or 10 games in a season, have the talent to either win or compete strongly in the SECC and beyond, lose a couple games you absolutely should have won, and suffer an embarrasing bowl loss. If that doesnt translate to mediocre to you then we have different expectations

This right here....
Fact is UGA shouldnt be rebuilding a defense, they should have been reloading a defense, there is no excuse as to why the defense should be this young
CTG has had 4 years to recruit his defense, he should have had players ready to step in and be ready to play from the start, not start an all new defense from scratch
This all falls on the coaches, next year UGA will be rebuilding an offense

Apparently most of the posters here hold no postion of importance wherever they work. It seems baffling to everyone what falls under the responsibilities of being the guy in charge of everything. Especially one that makes more per game than some of you will make in 10 years

Richt is a good coach. Not great, but not bad. My question would be, "Why do people find the need to champion him as the best coach or worst coach, based on whether his FG kicker hits or misses a 55 yard FG?"
