Marcus Roberson returning next week.

Will play next week at Lsu. This is exciting. Roberson and Hargreaves, two of the best lock down corners in the Sec vs two of the best receivers. Future NFL first or second round picks all four are. I'm pumped just to see this duel play out. At least I hope Muschamp let's Hargreaves keep his spot because he is a better pure corner than purifoy. Let purifoy play slot and be a wild card type guy...blitz him, put him on rbs and slot receivers. He would not win vs landry or Beckham one on one as much as I like the guy.

I agree. Hargreaves and Roberson are the better cover corners, but Purifoy just makes plays.
Sort of reminds me of the Honey Badger with his corner blitzes and ball strips.

Should be one great matchup. Our freshman corners are finally shining too, white and Robinson have established themselves as our top two corners, even as frosh.
The million dollar question to me is can you stop our running game without loading the box. The way we are playing this year is very balanced.

I don't think Muschamp will load the box.
Even in the 1st Q yesterday, when Arky gashed us, he didn't change the way the defense was called.

Our secondary will be on Landry and Beckham like white on rice. I smell 3 picks.
Meanwhile our DL will treat Metty Boy like a 20 dollar hooker....rough.
Don't do what Arkie tried to do...put eight mean in the box almost every snap...Murphy will light up that porous secondary like an 8 yr old with matches.
Should be great game...afternoon game which LSU hates. Great offense against the best defense in the country with an efficient offense.
Just remember this: a shiney bright colored offense looks great when you first open the box and then the qb gets in the room with a giant boar constrictor and once that boa grabs that shiney qb....its a slow death watching the team unable to do anything and the qb will get gun shy after 2 picks.

Gonna be a fun one. Best defense we will see all season. Most likely the best defense in the country.

The run defense does worry me some I won't lie. We won't load the box though, we may blitz a safety occasionally to help but we like to keep our secondary is pass coverage most of the game and let the front seven do their job.
How's you oline pass blocking? 11 sacks seems quite high and right now Fowler is playing as good as any DE in the country. Is this a misleading stat or a legitimate worry for you guys?

We have given up some sacks, but to be fair we chunk the ball all over the field now and mett is taking some 7 step drops regularly.
Our line play has been good enough to this point. It would be a huge concern if Easley were ok.
And to the troll a few posts up, no one is locking down obj or Landry. Ain't happening, sorry.

Hargreaves will make one of their lives very tough. Arkansas stopped throwing at him at the end of the first basically because It's almost pointless. 5 for 22 throwing at hargreaves. He can at least hold off one to an average day. He certainly isn't being beat deep I've never seen someone play the deep ball so well on our team including haden.

No offense bro, but Landry and beckham have been getting bracketed for weeks and they have such a good chemistry with mett he throw them open anyway.
I think tcu has better starting corners this year. In a year or two Hargreaves will surpass them, but those guys are both getting drafted in the first two days,
Mett lit them up.

Roberson and purifoy are first and second rounders as well, and hargreaves is better than both already. Add in our pass rush is the scariest thing mett will face this year it will help. I'm not saying the shut them down, I'm saying they can contain it. They will get their catches no doubt, but we tackle well on the outside one on one and don't let big plays happen much.

The biggest questions are really who wins the run game and who limits turnovers. Lsus secondary has had issues, but florida doesn't air it out. Lsus pass offense is incredible, but ufs strength is probably having the best pass d in the nation. So I think the most important part is who doesn't turn it over, and who wins the run game. The latter of which, worries me. Our run game is not nearly what it was last year with gilly gone.
