yeah, Green did horrible

If anything he should have been playing more snaps than Hall. Hicks made some great blocks for Douglas.

Not sure why Hicks has the role he currently has, but I trust the staff to make the changes necessary to maximize our chances of winning, regardless of what we think.
Green did a great job today and think he's a great #3 behind Gurley and Marshall.

Sid the same thing after Marshall went down. Absolutely stupid of bobo. Hicks would have picked up the important 3rd downs we needed and if he was the feature back, we would have won by. 3 td's. No question about it. Btw Grantham was a dumb arse today. We are screwed for the rest of the season with all the injuries. Absolute crap game today and we will lose to Au, UF, and possibly Mizzzz now. Bye bye NC.

Slow down brother. Yes hicks was way underutilized but we will get there. I think we will regroup well. Dont ever call today a win though. Utter disaster

Hicks should have been the feature back with Marshall out...period! Bozo is a dumb arse counting on TF in place of a big Brandon Jacobs like bruiser in Hicks with 43 leading the way! I could have jumped through the TV and sliced every coach we had in the penis with a knife after that piss poor play calling abomination!

Disagree. I LOVE Hicks, but he is too slow for a feature back. He excells at clearing the way with bone crushing blocks and the occasional surprise carry. Does a GREAT job within his role.
However, if he is the feature back, Tennessee, or any other team for that matter could sit their CB/Safeties back for pass protection and not have to worry about us trying to run to the edges. They would shut our passing game down.
When the injuries hit, the coaches felt we should keep the ball on the ground to run the clock out and try to wear down the defense. A mistake. Tennessee was open to Murray passing as he did on the last drive. BUT, we have the advantage of 20/20. We won the game. be happy with it. EVERY team has games like this.....even National Championship winners.

First of all, I have been posting on the old DR since 2004. Since the new DR, I have been in Afghanistan. Anyways, did anyone see the Stanford game last night? Their short yardage package used a FB as the RB, behind another FB, and a TE in TE backfield.
Why couldn't Bobo do something to mix it up? Merritt Hall is awful and we can't run with him. Put him in front of Hicks, give Hicks the ball, put Lynch or Rome in the backfield with them. Who in the world would stop that on short yardage situations. Last year and this year once or twice, every time we gave Hicks the football he blew flew the line of scrimmage for at least 10 yards. He has good speed. I don't think Hall should see the field again, he sucks and I really do like the kid. But, he is no where near as good as Hicks and nobody can deny that when Hicks was blocking for JJ, we ran the ball just fine. I felt like I was watching KM4 in their.
Anyways, cheers to the win and I hope someone sees eye to eye on this one.

If he starts, it will be at fullback.
Hicks is going to be the complete package as a fullback, but he's not a tailback. He doesn't have the quickness, instincts, or change-of-direction abilities of an SEC-level tailback. If he did, the staff would have already been looking at him at tailback long ago.
Much more likely to be added to the mix, if he's 100% now, is Turman. He was turning heads early on in preseason, before he got derailed with injuries. But if he's healthy, he may be brought back in (as opposed to redshirted), since Marshall is likely gone for the year.
