I saw the following quote in a thread this morning and thought to myself, "Why don't we discuss this as the OP of the quote probably hasn't thought it out."
quote:

I am really interested in this topic, how bad does it suck to be an Ole Miss fan?

Being an Ole Miss fan sucks much less than being a Bama fan. This is fact. I'll tell you why.

Ole Miss fans are happy about wins. Any wins. While we sometimes get a little bummed out, we don't kill ourself over losses. They happen. Sometimes WAOM and sometimes we aren't. Life goes on as it always has.

Bama fans' entire lives ride weekly during not only the fall and winter but also the spring and summer on a football game played by college students. Every win takes them to the mountaintop of jubilation. Every loss takes them to depths of despair.

Would you rather enjoy the game of football or become so emotionally invested into the your program that you let it control every facet of your being? The way you treat people. The way you treat yourself. You let a football game impact everything.

When you let football affect how you treat other people, you are a simple-minded fool. Plain and simple.

In conclusion...

Ole Miss fans? We win and we party in the grove before, during, and after the game. We lose and we party in the grove before, during, and after the game. We may not taste the success of winning national championships but I promise we ride through the ups and downs of collegiate athletics with a lot more grace and swag than any other fanbase in the SEC.

You can't tell me being an Ole Miss fan sucks worse than being a Bama fan and I just told you why.

When you own everyone like we do. Yes, losses are hard to take.

Imagine a world where losses not only happen but happen frequently and when you least expect them.

You'll wear your fanhood on your sleeve a whole lot less.

How quickly you forget 1997-2007.

Y'all probably had more wins in that decade than Ole Miss has had since 1990.

In my book you are kinda a born loser, born under a bad sign, out of strife and bitterness if you are a State fan. Then God elected a remenant to be Ole Miss fans. Other SEC fanbases are from off. Don't know don't care.

Seriously, I love Ole Miss but it will eat your heart out. My heart breaks every year in year out. Their is no way to compare the two. We are truer fans because we have much less incentive. I will say this TAMU have hung tough in a way that Bama fans would not IMO.

Sorant.

I know I've given you hell lately but this was actually a great post.

I know first hand cause I grew up a UF fan in the 90's when er expect to win every game. Saturdays were stressful and if you didn't win it ruined the weekend.

Even though during my time at Ole miss hasn't been as successful in the field it has honestly been a lot more fun overall.

These Bama Fans and I'm sure LSU fans won't understand cause for them it's all about winning. But I agree with you.

I don't know about the rest of my fellow Bama fans but I balance both of the above quite well. I enjoy it and am emotionally invested in it.

Your TL;DR OP basically tells me one thing.....you're a loser.

You're in the minority.

Retraction of my statement above. Your team's constant success on the field coupled with you being unable to separate life and game causes you to make statements like this to other people that you don't even know.

I, as a State fan, resent that. We know how to lose too.

Nothing says loser quite like that post. Excuses, lose them. Man up.

What happened to all of the enthusiasm and testosterone from early weeks of this season? I guess the biggest positive is that the season is really short, if that's what you like. So when you post here outside of Saturday, or September-November, what should we conclude?
