RANK SCHOOL POINTS RECORD COMMENT
1
Oregon
3,086.9 4-0 Oregon opened its Pac-12 schedule by dominating Cal in the rain. If the Ducks somehow didn't score again, they would still be on top.
2
Baylor
2,799.0 3-0 The Bears didn't score this week thanks to a bye. It's really the only way to stop them. Good luck to West Virginia this week in Waco.
3
Louisville
2,618.5 4-0 Teddy Bridgewater and the Cards also had the week off as they prepare for a trip to Philly to take on Temple in their first AAC game.
4
Washington
2,606.1 4-0 Washington needed RB Bishop Sankey to get going in a driving rain. All he did was rush a school-record 40 times for 161 yards and a TD.
5
Ohio St.
2,475.2 5-0 After surviving its first big test of the season against Wisconsin, OSU is the only team sitting at 5-0. Another test awaits in Evanston.
6
Maryland
2,328.1 4-0 The schedule lined up nicely for the Terps -- a week off to prepare before heading to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.
7
Florida St.
2,287.9 4-0 Florida State's defense finally allowed some points this week in a 48-34 win at BC. It wasn't pretty but that offense is terrifying.
8
Miami (FL)
2,154.6 4-0 The Canes finished its non-conference portion of the schedule by routing South Florida in Tampa. Now they start ACC play with Ga. Tech.
9
Wisconsin
2,107.3 3-2 Wisconsin might be the best 3-2 team in the nation following Saturday's loss at Ohio State. The Badgers only rushed for 104 yards.
10
Oklahoma
1,982.6 4-0 OU's defense picked off Notre Dame three times to help beat the Irish for only the second time. QB Blake Bell threw 2 TDs as well.
11
UCLA
1,980.9 3-0 The Bruins have only played three games thanks to a quirky schedule, and hit the road again this week with a Thursday night tilt at Utah.
12
Iowa
1,904.3 4-1 Iowa went into Minnesota and dominated the Gophers on both sides of the ball. RB Mark Weisman rushed for 147 yards in the victory.
13
Cincinnati
1,836.4 3-1 Another team with a Week 5 bye, the Bearcats get wounded South Florida next in its first American Athletic Conference game.
14
Clemson
1,759.7 4-0 The Tigers pounded Wake Forest thanks to QB Tajh Boyd and his four total touchdowns. Boyd eclipsed the 100 total TD mark in the win.
15
Texas Tech
1,679.2 4-0 Texas Tech had a week off to prepare for a trip to Kansas this Saturday. QB Baker Mayfield has been tremendous for the Red Raiders.

I sure as hell hope this isn't the poll the playoff committee will consider

that actually looks about right, this board vastly overrates the SEC's standing.

There are literally dozens of really good computer rankings out there ( Ranking Composite). This is a complete embarrassment to the NCAA that this is what they put on their website.
However, for those that care, these NCAA power rankings apply the statistics to date, to a SOS factor projected for the entire season. So at this point in the season it really penalizes front loaded schedules (like most of the SEC), and favors teams that have put up gaudy numbers against weak competition but have strong schedules in front of them.
