Who do you blame most for the destructing of the Tennessee program? Some blame Mike Hamilton, some blame Fulmer, some blame Kiffin, and some blame Dooley. I personally Blame Fulmer with his lazy arse recruiting, and shitty coaching from 2005 onward he set the path to where we are now. I just wanna kill all the bastards on this list cause going to a Tennessee game now is like watching my high school play every week

All of the above, but I didn't think Dooley would be as horrible as he turned out.

Definitely Hamilton. Or maybe University leadership which apparently wasn't stable for that decade.

It was just a perfect storm of incompetence, arrogance, and ineptitude. Plenty of blame could be placed on all of them, though I think Dooley deserves the least amount. The Kiffin hire would be where I place most of the blame.

Hillbilly sickness causing players to be weak. Lack of Nutrients. Ex-Tenn player in pros said he didn't have enough to eat so he had to take money. Seems pretty straight forward.

Fulmer got lazy and the game looked like it was passing him by. That happens to the best of coaches. It seemed like the right decision at the time, but in hindsight if Fulmer could have found the right offensive coordinator and kept Chavis, UT would have been better than they have been the last several years. Still, I couldn't really fault the decision at the time.

I didn't think Kiffin was a bad hire at the time. It seemed like he was going to blow the doors off recruiting and be a success. I just had no idea how incredibly douchey the guy was and he just completely fricked y'all by jumping to USC. In hindsight it was obviously an awful hire, but again at the time I can't really fault the hire.

Dooley on the other hand was an awful hire at the time and in hindsight. The guy had shown absolutely nothing to indicate he was ready or capable of leading a top football program. The resume was weak, weak, weak. UT could have and should have done much better than Dooley and I was not surprised at all he failed.

Butch Jones? I think UT could have done better again (although with the downward spiral you guys were in maybe he was the best you could do). Jury is still out, but I am not optimistic Jones can compete with the caliber of coaches in the SEC right now.

Fulmer at the helm over the last 5 years would have probably been pretty mediocre with occasional good years but nowhere near the shitshow that Kiffin and Dooley were.

The initial downfall was due to Fulmer's complacency. Our current situation can be 100% attributed to Derek Dooley.

At the time, Kiffin wasn't a terrible hire. Though the NCAA sniffing around after his departure, surely didn't help during the subsequent coaching search. It was a perfect shite storm.

The good news is, Butch appears to have things on the right track. He's recruiting at a very high level, he's won the games he was supposed to win, and lost the games he was supposed to lose. And he still has time to get that signature first season win, if he by some miracle gets us to 6 or 7, watch out.
