Me neither, but I saw how they were in the block formation and assumed that would be the only reason engie would post it.
Does State even still do the DPR?

I'd still like to know how anyone should recognize the "dawg pound rock" from that picture.
You are really reaching to categorize us as willfully ignorant. I have no reason to assume that you posted a picture of the "dawg pound rock." I'm a second-generation Ole Miss alumnus. I follow Ole Miss recruiting, but I don't subscribe to any pay sites. I don't care about the "dawg pound rock." I definitely don't care how many high school teams had a pre-game celebration that resembled the DPR within the last two years. Disinterest is not the equivalent of willful ignorance.
You could have just made your underlying point from the beginning - and it's a valid point. There was no reason to be cryptic about it, though. It seems like your actual point was less important to you than creating a pretext to act as though no one knows more about recruiting than you do. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems unreasonable to be so difficult about that.

Could be said about pretty much every post of engie's illustrious message board career.

I had to youtube this "dog pound rock". Never heard of it before today

I've followed Ole Miss recruiting creepily close since 2007 and I have no idea what the frick that picture meant until it was explained.

I mean, that's sort of hard to believe. Maybe.
I dunno. I thought it was a thing most OM and MSU fans would know about.
That doesn't excuse engie's lame-arse crypticness, though. It was very pretentious.

It's not about "recognizing" it. It's about realizing the quote that was being refuted, seeing the team on the field, thinking back about various recruiting battles between the two of us on that team, and understanding the point.

If you were disinterested, why have you now responded to me multiple times? How does finding "sudden interest" to argue about something that you were disinterested in before not still qualify as willful ignorance?

The goal was for those of you that know what's going on with OM recruiting and have followed for awhile to understand the point I was making as simply as possible and explain it to others. But sorantable responded first -- and everyone else then went groupthink "cool not to comprehend" with it -- also known as the same thing many of you accuse ED and SPS of.

Had there been an honest question without multiple smart arse responses to me first, I would have given an honest answer at that point and left it at that. When others start the smart arse game, I'm more than happy to play along with it.

If you would like mine and your future interactions to be "reasonable", I'm good with that and can do it. It's my preferred way of handling things anyway. Unfortunately, most of your contemporaries here prefer to go the other way, which I'm happy to play along with.

Oh I believe you. It's just hard to.

People are bandwagon recruiting followers because they can't make out a picture. Seems legit.

You really believe this don't you? It's all a conspiracy to make your coyness seem stupid. Good God

I mean was this really a big deal then? Was there a thread about it? I seriously don't remember anything about it, and 2011 was one of the biggest recruiting seasons where both of our fanbases were heavily following at the same time.

State fans apparently flipped their shite while it flew under most Ole Miss fans' radar.
Posted on 10/2/13 at 7:30 pm to sorantable
I really don't remember it. I would admit it if I did.

I follow recruiting... I have since the day we fired David Cutcliffe... My wife's from Batesville, I remember her dad telling me, " Snoop lead the team in the dawg Pound rock last weekend"... I said , "Seriously ?!?" He said "yeah.. word is he may commit to the MSU coaches.. But ther's no way he goes to school anywhere but Bama or Ole Miss."

I recognized that it was South Panola, but without any reference to when the picture was taken, who the players were, or what they were doing, it was significantly less likely for someone to derive your point. When I asked what was going on in the picture, you seemed like you would rather feel superior about your recruiting insight than explain. The whole thing seemed unnecessarily adversarial.

You misunderstand what I'm disinterested in. I'm obviously not disinterested in recruiting. I'm disinterested in the dawg pound rock, which is why there was no way I would recognize it in a picture. I'm still curious why I should recognize the DPR in that picture.

With respect, I find this a little hard to believe. It seems like the simplest way to make your point would have been to say, "Nick Brassell led the dawg pound rock in 2011, and he signed with Ole Miss."

I knew it was the DPR but I guess MSU fans saw it as verifying that he was Starkville bound. OM fans let it slide because we knew the battle was a long way from over. Didnt CJ flip like 9 months before that? We had a good feeling of what was probalby coming.
