Where has the misdirection in Gus' O gone?

Thinking back to 2009 Gus consistently had a player, usually OMac, coming on the sweep behind the qb. I don't think I've seen this any this season. Its this just the natural evolution of an offense, or did Gus stop for a specific reason?

We were not ruining the veer with Todd in '09. We still had OMac running the sweep.

Maybe he's evolved. Les Miles ran a crazy O at OSU.

I wonder how much that has to do with what Nick knows of the offense? I agree there was so much more in the past, and helped the offense move the ball better.

We ran it out of the wildcat. WIth Todd, we did run the option occasionally as well as some read option which is very similar type plays that set up that sweep play.

This highlight has proof of it

I've been wondering this as well. The 2009 offense almost net ntly had a receiver in motion at the snap. There was always a threat of a reverse. Clemson still does a lot of it.

Hopefully as Marshall learns the offense, it will come out more.

And that netted us 3 points in 59 minutes @ BR.

I think Gus is holding back and letting Nick progress in the QB position. I am not saying he is sandbagging the plays but it seems to me he is just getting them synced. Our Offense is still not up to full tempo yet. It would be great if it were all practice for the iron bowl and he unveiled some demented offensive playbook
wishful thinking.
