Where would LSU finish in West without Cam Cameron?

Looking back, hiring Cam Cameron probably greatly slowed the progress of the #decline. Our offense would probably be somewhat similar to last year. Couple that with the quality of our defense this year, and we might have been looking at LSU finishing 5th in the West. What says the rant?

3rd. Mett would still be very good. People are overstating Cam's effect. He's helping a lot, but offense would still be good. the offense was very good against Bama last year. the improvement has a lot to do with natural progression of Landry, Mett, and Odell.

Lower than they actually will this year

But they do have Cam Cameron, so this is pointless.

I agree. We haven't sniffed an offense like this in a long time, and I don't think it's just coincidence that it comes around on CC's first year

I don't think so.

Look at the Peach Bowl. We had 219 total yards and 9 first downs.

Against the John L. Smith-inspired Razorbacks we only put up 20 and won by a TD (one of those TDs being that freak one-handed grab by Landry).

We scored some points against Ole Miss and squeaked by, but Mett had 2 INTS. and no TDs.

Bama stood alone by itself. It seemed that we called plays on offense against them that we didn't normally call against other teams. For everyone else, it was the same old bunch formations, etc. That ain't the case anymore.

We'd still win all our OOC games except TCU, and we'd beat Mississippi State, Auburn and Arkansas (though all games would be close). TCU and Ole Miss would be toss-ups. Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M would be losses.

So we'd probably be looking at 7-5 and either 3-5 or 4-4 in-conference, which is likely good for 4th in the West. Maybe third, but only if we lost to TCU instead of Ole Miss, and if Ole Miss also were to lose to Missouri.

You are right & I have always believed Stud was the weak link on the coaching staff. Would love to see him find a position at another school & despite what we've heard about his being a B-B-Q buddy of Miles, I don't think Miles would go out of his way to try and get him to stay. LSU is capable of getting a much better OL coach.
