@AdamSchefter: Denver DC Jack Del Rio expected to emerge as a leading candidate for USC HC job, as @mikefreemanNFL said. Sources said Del Rio wants job.
And didn't JDR turn down the job 3 years ago?

shite probably. I hope not though, I think the kid has potential.

I think he probably would too. I know Vinnie didn't follow his dad to UT but that's a different situation.

Let him go. We have Cornwell and Town coming.

He would most likely leave for USC..IMHO

Most likely would not leave for USC. QB is a leadership position and the only one spot on the team (compared to LB etc where you have multiple playing) so if he didn't earn the starting spot but was given it, the team would look very badly on it and it would ruin the chemistry. Would really put the dad in a tough awkward spot. Its better for him to try to earn the starting role somewhere else.

Really couldn't blame him either way.

I'd like to think Luke Del Rio is here for networking for his future and competing for a starting job. So if the latter doesn't pan out, he has some ties other than his father's to help a potential coaching career.
He could transfer just to go, but I heavily doubt he would ever see a meaningful snap. He may not at Bama either, but having as dad as HC may hurt his chances more. Fans are gonna be pushing for Max Browne with a new HC, and he's gonna have to oblige if Kessler or Wittek don't show vast improvement. Not to mention the ease USC has in bringing in highly touted QBs.
If LDR goes, he's knowingly closing the book on his playing career. It will never be a fair competition at USC for him...

Steve Sarkisian will be the next head coach at USC.

His Sister is still here. If he feels comfortable about his potential to play I'd bet on him staying.

I am not sure LDR will see PT. But that is not to say he will follow his dad. Not even sure why Bama fans are even curious about the coming and going of a walk on

Sark is building something species at Washington. I don't see him leaving with that program starting to take off.

Because he's not your typical walk-on. He could be on scholarship at 1 of several AQ schools right now but chose instead to walk-on at Bama.

i understand that but we have scholarship guys as well as a high profile dude coming in next year.

You're welcome to discuss them too

I think he'd rather take a shot at being Bama's QB.He'll get his shot this spring.A lot of hot shot QB'S competing.

Del Rio spent a year shadowing Manning, he was allowed to attend all of Denvers qb meetings at Paytons insistence. By all accounts he is a hard worker, and very football savvy. I think the kid may be at the top of the heap when the dust settles, walk-on or not.

I doubt it. The QB competition next spring is going to be 100% wide open. If he doesn't win the job, maybe he would consider it then, but I know I wouldn't have wanted to play for my dad. Too awkward.
