Watching both TD runs tonight against OM, I would say Drake is faster than Yeldon by a good bit. Drake has been more effective imo this season, but Yeldon is clearly our #1 RB.

Any idea why Yeldon was hurting so much tonight?

Drake is better at getting the tough yards, IMO.

Drake IS faster, but watch the plays in the middle of the line. Yeldon has the power to pull out of a tackle inside but Drake always looks to bounce it outside. They both have breakaway speed, but Yeldon goes hard in the middle THEN turns it on.

Matt Millen made some sound on Finebaum about this exact thing, that Drake was underrated and could be an all-around better back than Yeldon -- I tend to agree. He's not as big, but he's definitely more explosive.

I know we need the blocking at H-B but what is with Fowler and getting less carries?

Our OC is a fricking idiot who wants to turn us into Texas Tech.

I was never a huge fan of McElwain, but I'd sell my left kidney on the Chinese black market to get him back over Nussmeier.

I've always liked Fowler as a RB but he only gets carries at the expense of TJ or Drake and they appear to be better backs

As for TJ vs Drake, Drake has better burst but TJ is better between the tackles and getting tough yards.

He's faster, but Chris Johnson is faster than AP, we know who is better. Personally, I don't trust Drake. He's been suspended twice, right? I don't trust him to stay out of trouble, so everytime he messes up look for me to campaign to bench him. Like on that one toss today, he had the sideline with his speed, but he cuts up field INTO TRAFFIC for no reason.

I don't trust Yeldon to hold onto the fricking ball.

This has always been the way I've viewed the two. This definitely played out in the first half. Seemed like Drake was going down fairly easy on first contact early in the game.

In the second half though, Drake looked a lot tougher. He was really moving the pile a few times which was a pleasant surprise. I think someone may have gotten in his ear at halftime because he really looked different later in the game in terms of toughness and power. He's clearly fast as hell. Probably the fastest RB we have right now. There's a chance Kamara may be faster, but I don't really know since I haven't seen him run yet. I hope we see more tough yards like that from Drake because he's clearly one of those backs that will break a big run off if he can get past the first level.

Drake is more fiery which I like. He runs with a purpose.

Yeldon runs inside the tackles better, but doesn't look for the HR play. Tonight was his first big TD run I believe

It's pretty obvious no one is respecting Alabama's running game and rightfully so. Ole Miss was ALL OVER the play action passes tonight because there was no legit threat of a running game. The second half it improved when Ole Miss' defense wore down.

I can not express how much I can't stand Nussmeier. His infatuation with the shotgun absolutely drives me nuts. If I see us in shotgun, 4-wide on short yardage situations I'm going to pull an Elvis and shoot my TV with my .45.

Drake is faster. He lacks Yeldons vision though. Drake is also somewhat impatient on waiting for the hole, if it appears.
