we do not start tackling people. The defense is not taking care of their assignments.

Steck needs to rip that arm brace off and show those young men how to tackle!!!

A bad win?

At least this should wake them up for next week.

Sorry but I am not a steckel fan. Our defense is atrocious. Don't even wanna think about what Georgia will do to us.

The problems with the D is that for the most part they stood strong in OOC once the team got in our red zone. Against SEC teams, a lot more of those possessions are going to find their way into the endzone. We have got to have some 3 and outs.

That's a lot of yards to be giving up to the shite teams on your schedule. A&M and UGA may put up 700 on us at this rate.

Our defense has always played that "bend but don't break", pansy style that pisses me off. They need to go back to some tackling 101 and learn how to be aggressive.

If they didn't have a history of it, I would think they're afraid to hit someone because of the new targeting rule. Unfortunately, the tackling problems pre-date the rule.

The tackling problems go back to Pinkel's first season. Very little new blood on the coaching staff, and we have never tackled well, IMO, under Pinkel. We have had some outstanding defensive players, no doubt. But fundamentally, I don't tink we've ever been sound at tackling, or at DB play. It's a years old problem.

I am by no means a football expert, but it seems to me that a lot of times we miss tackles because we are trying to strip the ball rather than lay the leather and wrap up. But I've had more than a few beers and I could be completely off my rockers.

No you are right, we tried to strip the ball alot. Nothing wrong with that, unless of course, it results in piss poor tackling, which it did.

The SEC portion of our schedule has me concerned now. Our players can walk around with a chip on their shoulders all they want, but if you can't back it up with sound, fundamental football, it doesn't mean squat.

Right now, we know very little about this team and how prepared they are for conference play. Four games we should of dominated produced mixed results. Starting games slow in the SEC will get us buried pretty fast and don't have enough confidence in our offense to bring us back. Call me a pessimist if you like, but I've seen enough of this same song and dance over the years to raise alot of red flags for me. I'm just tired of the mediocrity we seem to live in.

The only light I see is SEC defenses doesn't seem to be as tough and brutal as they use to be thus far.

Almost all the optimism I had about the team disappeared last night. It is insane how much defensive talent has been sent to the nfl and yet the defense as a whole is consistently bad. The only thing I like is that Henson seems more able to adapt throughout the game than Yost was.
