I wouldn't mind the wildcat with Lewis, but it will most likely be Russell.

One would think...

The only reasons I could think of why Mullen would start Tyler:

1) Doesn't have the nuts to tell him.
2) Doesn't want to swallow his pride and admit he didn't turn Tyler into an NFL QB.
3) Tyler was somewhat effective against LSU last year in Baton Rouge.

4) Mullen needs to start Tyler. It is a win-win situation. Russell either does well, and we do well, or Russell does poorly, and Mullen can go whole hog with Dak without people questioning him for taking the job away from a 5th year senior due to injury.

Two series should be plenty to make that call. For us to win the defense has to be ultra good. If Tyler sucks, they need to keep us in the game until Dan hands the reins to Dak.

I hope you are right. As we know, common sense has not been shown by our coaching staff.

I say Dak starts. Surely Mullen is not stubborn enough to start Russell. You can't start the former starter with plans to pull him if he underperforms. He will end up making excuses because it's LSU. Next thing you know, you are down two touchdowns and bringing in the guy that is the lesser passer to make a comeback. You have to start the guy that gives you the best chance. Dak Prescott is that person. You can always bring Russell in some as well. Do you guys think Russell would have scored 62 against Troy? If you do, you should just give up the internet.

First off, I don't really believe that Dak is that much less of a passer. He just needs experience to be calm in the pocket and calm in the 4th quarter of a tight game. I am sold that the future is now for Dak, but...

This choice may not be as clear cut as it appears from the outside. We don't really have any insight into team politics. The team may want Dak, or they may want Tyler, or they may be split 50/50, or ... who knows?

The majority of fans want Dak. The results on the field say Dak. If the team wants Dak, and we start TR, watch out, it could get ugly. If the team wants TR, Mullen really has no choice other than giving him a chance.

I say Tyler starts and I am OK with that. He has done nothing to lose the starting position just because he got hurt. He either does well to start off against LSU or he doesn't. If he doesn't, Dak comes in. Now if he sticks with Tyler and we aren't moving the ball, I have a problem.....

Tds, Dak did not score 62 points. He threw a td and rushed 2. Thats 21 points. Tr did as well last year.

Still have not watched it all, but I know a few things compared to last season. One is the defense did a much better job. So much that we dominated the time of posession.

We also have to take into account this was a bad defense and going into the game, we knew it. This board as a whole knew it. It shouldnt be used as a measuring stick. We tried that last season when we were 7-0. Remember?

Russell had been practicing for 2 weeks before Troy- was cleared for contact on Thursday- and didnt play a snap.

There is no way I think Mullen runs Russell out there against LSU for the 1st series. If you planned to play him vs LSU- I think you get him a series vs Troy just to get his feet wet again. Especially against a much weaker pass rush

I'd say putting up three points against OSU is doing something. But it's not his fault. But it's the same situation.

You don't have to reply to me. From now on, I will just think of the most homeristic Tyler thing possible and assume that that is how you feel.
