I was at a wedding and was not able to watch much of the game. I did catch the very end and on that particular playI watch Nick Marshall step into a pass & his footslipped out from under him. My question is how bad was LSU's playing surface?

I don't know about on the field, but baton rouge had received 2+ inches before 10 am when we got there.

The reason I ask is I've been there twice and to me its the worst fricking playing surface as far as grass fields are concerned.

LSU didn't slip as much as we did. Under Armour cleats vs Nike cleats may have been an underlying factor there.

I didn't think it was in terrible condition.

Perhaps something to do with all that rain...

It was pretty bad, but just about any field that got as much rain as they did would have been in bad shape. They got over 3 inches of rain before the game started and it rained pretty hard for most of the first half. It was pretty torn up by the end of the game.

Do you know how much rain we got before the game against WVU in 2009?

We won that game so clearly rain wasn't a factor in the game, we just were better.

We lost against LSU so the rain was unbelievable and way more than what should be safe playing field conditions. No rain and our players don't get hurt and we don't fumble. We win the game. Easy

They will tell you they have the best draining football & baseball fields in America. How they know that, I have no idea.

Are you a man? Don't ever admit that. I told mol lady at the beginning....does not matter if I am groom, best man, or guest, will not go to a wedding on a gameday.

Back on topic. Wet field did not seem to bother LSU as much. Remember, winners find a way, losers find an excuse. Not directed toward you, but other AU boars.....

It being an away game was a strong factor. But hey I'm gonna need some groomsmen when/IF the time comes for me.

I don't. Probably a couple inches. Our field definitely drains very well, but our field was still pretty wet that night. There were definitely some slips during the game.

Again, was that wedding that important?

Congrats when the time comes, but lay the law down early, no Fall weddings. If chick thinks otherwise, you know what to do.

I was there and it was terrible. I remember saying when Denson got hurt that both times people had hit the ground they had taken huge streaks out of the turf. There was another one stretching 4 yards after the first big Hill run where he had dragged two dbs.
