I tell you what, yesterday the most impressive player, I thought, in college football was the quarterback that came into the game down at Florida. A kid named Tyler Murphy," Spurrier said Sunday to open his weekly teleconference.

Murphy will save Florida's season. Their offense went from atrocious to serviceable. He made some veritcal throws and he ran the ball well too.

You probably should've stopped thinking when you started.

From what I saw, if Murphy is the real deal, UF has as good a shot at the big game as anyone. They already have the best D in the conference. Can he perform consistently is the question.

Why are all the UF fans bitching at each other today?

We're normally a very cool bunch.

Did some Tennessee fans hit yall with piss balloons yesterday?

Was Murphy given legitimate opportunity during spring and August practice for QB job?

If by legitimate opportunity you mean "Coach Pease wanted me to move to WR," then yes, he was given a shot.

Yes he was. Driskel won the job. The problem isn't Driskel.

The problem is trying to make JD a drop back passer when he's a spread QB. We just herp derped two 5 star QBs in a row by putting in an offense that didn't fit their skill set.

My goodness.

I thought Coach Pease a homerun hire when ya'll got him but....

Well, it'll be interesting to see how he develops. Glad LSU gets him kind of early. If he does well, FSU better watch out.

I'm not buying the hype right now. He made some mistakes but they weren't too costly.

If he plays well against LSU then I think he is definitely the right guy for the job.

Well, there's a lot of snaps missed that he has to fast track on. UK and the Hogs should give him some development time before he is in the frying pan.

I had taken ya'll off my 'games most concerned about' list, but back on it now. He definitely gave ya'll a pulse.

Even without a QB we can win any game we play.

Dante Fowler needed more love for that play he made on Tennessee's first drive. It was nearly identical to the play Clowney made against Michigan minus the helmet popping off.

Our D is good enough to win us every game as long as our offense doesn't frick up.

I hold out no hope that he will be an elite QB. Career back up that just threw his first college pass.

We just need him to manage the game and not make silly turn-overs.

I don't believe at this point we have a shot to beat LSU but I guess we'll have to play the game.

What I wouldn't give for Jameis Winston right now.

Feel free to explain this to me...A QB's job is to throw the football accurately to receivers (in theory). A spread QB can't play pitch & catch all day like a non-mobile QB can??...

Why can a QB like Driskell not be successful in a I formation, play action pro style offense???

You make sense if your putting Mett or Murray (semi mobile QB's) in the spread, but it doesn't make sense vice-versa...

Usually a Spread QB can because his running ability keeps the defense honest. Most spread QBs don't have quite as good of arms as non-Spread QBs.

Take a runners running ability away and you're making it easier for the defense to play against his passing game.
