He's living a bit of the tPOS lifestyle out there in San Fran. Lots of partying, There was a shooting at his house. He needs to focus on football and stop partying and letting people sponge on him.

He will be broke within two years after his NFL career ends.

Unless he gets it together, I'm afraid you're right. He's still young though. He was still 20 when he was drafted, right? So he's just now 22, maybe 23? On his own, more money than he knows what to do with, girls throwing themselves at him, people wanting to hang with him (and his money.) I hope he figures out these people he's hanging with aren't really his friends, and settles down.

He won't. Not meaning to be debbie downer, but this trend goes far deeper than age and immaturity.

No, sadly you are right. We can hope that things can turn around for one of our favorite sons but the statistics are not on his side.

I hate to say this, but honestly it's a culture issue.
And don't call me racist. If ESPN and former bankrupt players admit that, so can I.

IT is. I remember reading an article some time ago talking about young men that come out of college early to go to the NFL that discussed the troubles they have once leaving college compared to those that stay 4 or 5 years in college first.
There is so much growing that occurs for young men during that period and that is when a good program will help change the behavioral issues caused by upbringing/culture.
I will try ans find that. It was a good read. Think it was SI.

Everybody relax. He's got this all under control. Lots of people are drunk at 7am on a Thursday...

NO, it's not racist. Culture =/= racist. I do think maturity has something to do with it though. He was fine at Missouri, where the coaches kept a thumb on him and kept him on the straight and narrow, and where his teammates treated him as one of the guys instead of a superstar. But he's an "adult" now, and expected to make it on his own. And he's susceptible to the parasites that follow wealthy athletes around and encourage them to party hard.

Wherever you find four Catholics, there is always a fifth.

True story: I went to a Catholic grade school (k-8) and one of our priests would get so shite bombed at the school picnics that he would pass out near the beer garden every year.
It was hilarious listening to my parents try and "explain" what he was doing and what was going on.

Speaking of the maturity and financial side of all this, I still think the NFL and others should require all players to have a degree of some kind (associates, bachelors, etc.). I personally think all athletes should have at least an associates degree in finance or related field so they might stop wasting their future and their children's future.

When I got married, we had a nice slide show of pictures playing on a big screen at the reception. One picture surprised everyone (300 people)...a naked halloween picture of me bobbing for liquor shots in a tub of jungle juice. I was Adam from the Book of Genesis that year.
Everyone laughed or acted totally shocked. The priest stood up with a glass of champagne in both hands and toasted the groom for choosing the father of mankind as a halloween costume.
