New Mizzou helmet

I'm really not sure what to think about this. Considering our school color are black and gold... why are we going with silver?

I would hope so. It definitely looks cool despite it not being school colors but it will look terrible paired with any of your current uniform options.

It's not your age. Fact is they are getting further and further away from Mizzou colors. Whether it's yellow instead of gold. Anthracite instead of black. Logo instead of "M". Now silver instead of gold. They are trying to give this girl a complete makeover. It might look cool. But it will not be the Mizzou I grew up and loved.

Mizzou seems to bring you down. Maybe you should find another, more traditional and reliable school to follow. It will only make you more happy.

Oh you are so wrong notsince. But at the same time I'm realistic about it. I think I even said it might look cool in this instance BUT it is a change over what I grew up with(and every school is doing it). Are you denying they've gotten away from gold and moved to a yellow? Or that they've moved away from the block "M" and on to an oval tiger head? Or that silver has not been part of Mizzou's color scheme in the past?
Or are you saying that because I'm a bit of a traditionalist(yes, I hate the idea of the NL using a DH) that I should follow a different school? Or are you just trying to be a dick?

If you are a traditionalist, why are you a Mizzou fan? Mizzou is anything but traditional. The only "M" that is traditional to Mizzou is the Rock M and it is still there. The school logo has always been changing and so has Truman.
As for your yellow/gold question. For at least the last 15 years, the gold has been yellow in person whether or not it looked like it on TV. Go back and look at Mizzou uniforms over time and you'll see before it was gold, it was mustard and many other shades over many decades.

Look, I'll go with the flow and I'm not bitching about the changes, simply stating the obvious that there is a makeover being done. For what it's worth, I like Mizzou's makeover more than just about every other school's makeover that I've seen. I also recognize that it's something that probably needs to be done. Hell, some of next years recruits were tweeting all about the new helmets so that's indication enough it should be done because it creates a buzz with the kids coming out of high school. Just because I prefer some of the classic looks doesn't mean I hate the new or dislike the new or Mizzou is bringing me down. It just means my personal preference is for the older look. That's all. No biggie.

Na, you're fine and hardly alone in your opinions on the uniform in the fan base. Its been a drastic change. I sometimes look at some of the these uniforms in college football today and think that this is a phase kind of like the 70's to early 80's in baseball and the 80's in hockey were once things settle back down a little and teams search for a modern but more traditional look, folks will look back at some of these uniforms and say "what the hell were they thinking"
