Question about a play from Saturday

Maybe I just don't understand the rule but if he was pushed out of bounds earlier in the play doesn't the WR have to still make the catch in bounds?

I wouldn't put anything past Tom Ritters. The fact that he's still allowed to ref games speaks volumes about the integrity of the game. I cringe everytime I see him. He fricks every game up.

That should be the case. Imagine a qb throwing the ball away, the corner pushes the receiver out of bounds, and the receiver catches it as he falls in the stands, MLB style. Ruling on the field? Touchdown.

Looks like Pat Peterson in T-Town '09. Definitely out.

Interesting, I didn't realize he caught it out of bounds. I guess the refs just flubbed it.

They flubbed a LOT in the game. On both sides.

once pushed out of bounds you have to re-establish yourself in-bounds to make a catch.
