Is Mettenburger a top 5 sec qb?

I've got him at about 6. An lsu friend says he is the best qb in the country after his improvement this year. He has looked improved but I'm sure he will go back to looking awful once LSU plays a top 30 team. The only quality I see is an above average arm. I just don't get the hype I guess.

Murray, Manziel, Mccarron, Shaw are definitely the top 4 IMO in some order.
So he could potentially be 5th.

He will have the best stats in the league when all is said and done. LSU rolls undefeated this year.

Are you fricking dumb? Of course he's top 5 as of right now. He's looked majorly improved. Accuracy, footwork, etc

I tend to agree, but right now you just can't make a judgement because of the 3 cupcakes they faced at home and a neutral site. He has done nothing but played in 3 glorified scrimmages.

He's has a higher QB rating than all of those quarterbacks. The only QB with more touchdowns is Manziel but he has two ints

Actually I thought 6 was being really generous. Until he proves he can play well against a top team he shouldn't be jumping good qbs.

Stop trolling. NO ONE told you Mett's the best QB in the country. MOST LSU fans are happy that he looks like the Mett we expected to see last year. As for top 5, I don't see how that's hard to believe. AJ, JFF and AM are the only ones who I'd say are definitively better than Mett. That's not me being a homer b/c I'd say they are the only three who are definitively better than Connor Shaw. After those three, the SEC has a lot of good quarterbacks who are striving to be great.
