I expected him to be in the mix this year. I read somewhere that he'll be playing this week. I don't if that's true or not. But, I think we have a bit more of a finesse O-line than usual so I really expect more passing and off tackle running. I think he'd excel with his speed. I'm just not sure what got him in the dog house and if he's a good enough blocker for Saban to depend on him a lot.
What say you? I need some kind of actual football talk.

wasn't he active last year on ST

Don't know about Drake, but we need someone to step up behind Yeldon. Henry looked lost, Fowler looked slow and tentative, Tenpenny looked somewhat promising. I've gotten spoiled with the tandems of Coffee/Ingram, Ingram/Richardson, Richardson/Lacy, and Lacy/Yeldon.
Yeldon/??

He will have to work his way back up the depth chart after the suspension

I don't know. I think he's kind of the forgotten guy with all the big name RB's we brought in this year. I think he may get some time. I just remembered that he'd been suspended and found the article with Saban saying he was reinstated.
Something tells me he might make some noise in this game.

I hope Drake is the second part of this tandem and he was just sitting out the first game. I'm not sure how he couldn't be better than the other running backs we used in week 1.

The other RB's will be fine. No RB is going to look great when the defense is bringing more than you can block and the O-line is compounding that by whiffing on some blocks. But, I do think Drake might have some tools to get it done.

Imo Tenpenny looked like he should be the #2 back

Of the guys we saw, I agree. But, it's a very small sample size in just one game. And we haven't seen Drake yet.

I think that will take all of three series into the Texas A&M. Drake is better than anyone not named Yeldon at the running back position. He'll see the field and soon.

I'm not sure that Drake is not a better pure runner than Yeldon.
But a better overall running back and football player he is def not.

I really hope Drake is playing...we need a change of pace back. Hart is not the answer...I don't think I've seen him break a run longer than 8 yards the whole time he's been at UA.

How much have we really seen of him though? He has been hurt the past two years and unable to play.
