Who take money?

I think we can all admit the idea of an amateur athlete in big time college sports ended long ago. From my understanding Fluker's family was damn near homeless for sometime while he was in school he needed any extra money he could get.

All the while the conferences and universities are making money hand over fist with their billion dollar tv contracts and merchandise sales.

As long as the university did not know, coverup or facilitate if an agent wants to pay a kid fine by me

Nope I'd do the same thing and anyone who says they wouldn't is lying.

No way, I'd be paranoid that I would be the one that would get caught.

There has to be a little blame on the player, but not nearly as much as the agent.

Kids like Fluker grow up impoverished. Hell, he lived in a car at one point. Dangle thousands of dollars in the face of a kid that's never seen that much money in his life... you can't lay a lot of blame on him for taking it.

I'm wondering if you had this same attitude when SC got hammered?

The lack of knowledge is amazing around here.

I thought this place had a high football iq, despite the mess that is the discussions.

By iq, I do not feel this board has many people with much knowledge of the game. There are some. But mostly flamers trollers. Very hard for me to adjust.

But I felt like this board represented people that played ball some or knew some players or knew a guy that knew a guy. Not everyone of course - but I felt there was a good percentage of posters who knew players or had family related with players.

Now I am not so sure. If you notice after a game - the players are shaking hands and hugging the opposing team, warriors. The fans hate. The players are trying to fight for a living in a very tough business.

Just so you know - the Rice player JFF was jawing with said JFF was a nice guy - that he had come up to him and said "great hit"

Then as you saw the Rice guys started taunting him until he was walking back to the sidelines. Why didn't they make those guys get back in the huddle or through a flag?

Tebow did it and it was cool.

I know I bring this stuff up a lot - but it is not why you think. I am trying to teach - treat the players with equal respect. They are fighting to make it from nothing. They will make the same mistakes at every school.

Unite. Defend your brothers. If there are those that want the SEC to fall - unite. If those want JFF to fall - unite. If those want Bama to fall unite.

Lets run our programs and strive to run them as good as we can but lets not hang out own.

I will promise who is lurking to hang everybody. Texas. They have more money than probably our biggest few combined. I don't know how.

I want to be an advocate for their athletes like at any school - but I know a lot about Texas.

They are sinking. Fast. The school that makes more money than any - by far. and espn has 300 million stock in the team.

That's all for now. Stick together.

Yea, I blame them and not just because they're breaking the rules. It's not the University's job to pay players and I don't think they should making so much money, either.

If Fluker's family was struggling, then that signifies a problem with our society that needs to be fixed. It doesn't justify paying players, though.

College football fans are no better then the NCAA today, because we spend so much time trying to justify cheating. If we're gonna allow cheating, then let's just stop pretending that it's not allowed.
