I had a good friend that was a hostess at Bama while I was there. Forget how she got involved, but she absolutely did not "entertain" any of the recruits she was assigned to, though she said some did. She said she never felt pressured to do so. She actually hated the gig, but stayed in it as it provided many perks. She was basically treated like a student athlete her whole time there.
