Controlling the line of scrimmage... is it really that big of a deal?

How will Bama be able to do this? They flat out got smoked in it last year the last time these two faced each other, and that was supposedly Alabama's greatest offensive line of all time... Is offensive line something really that difficult to coach? Even something the mighty Saban couldn't do with an entire offseason? It seems like even spare teams with decent size and a large number of starts do well... and Alabama has neither at the moment, so coaching might be moot. Will they really be able to be serviceable?

And this may shock the gumps out there... but I for one don't think that will be that big of deal.

What I do think this affects is AJ McCarron. He's never had to deal with that much pressure. When he has(the first three and a half quarters of LSU last year, and the entirety of the Texas A&M game) he doesn't do well. At all...

So who do we really blame when Alabama's offense stalls over and over? AJ? His offensive line? Saban?

Yes, because if there's something A&M knows a lot about, it's how to build a team that wins National Championships.

Oh, wait.

Same way RICE did?

I'm guessing that will be Aggie's signature win for this decade, congrats.

Rice's offensive line was filled with seniors. 60% of Bama's offensive line has never faced an SEC opponent.

I do think AJ gets rattled under pressure, which hasn't happened too often, but the referenced games are clear examples (as well as the VaTech game).
We have three starters back in the front 7. I think we will find a way to generate pressure and get to McCarron.

Not to mention AJ knows he is inferior to Manziel and that will certainly get to him.

I usually start with the OC for poor play calling but that's me. That play pizzes me off to. The backside TE could have walked 2 yards and been wide open instead of standing there.

Im sure it will be a combination of the 3.

AJ not scrambling well enough when the line breaks down.

Offensive Line being inexperienced

Saban not scheduling another cupcake game to give the O-Line more time to gel.

Then there is also the possibility it has something to do with LSU somehow. Im sure the swamp kittens will let us know how they won us the game this year as well. Stay Tuned.

He seems to do really bad with pressure in his face. I didn't watch much of Virginia Tech, but is that what was happening?

It was a designed roll out?

I know, hence the backside TE just kinda looking at the play. The LB was technically there to cover him but the rollout had him biting inside. It would have been a pitch and catch.

The throw was going to Bell from the get go, so it would not have mattered if Williams went to the end zone. Saban or Nuss said in an interview A&M had been susceptible to that play in film they reviewed and thought it would work. The A&M guy just jumped the route.

I agree, my man. You need 3 yards , so you roll out a QB who doesn't roll out ever, and have him throw on the run sideways 20 yards..? No, no potential for bad shite happening there!

Damn, I never noticed that. Williams could have pulled a "Lutzy".
