IMO. David Oku is a good RB and they are a team that has had success. Looks like they have a senior QB who transferred in fro Utah State as well. Don't really know anything about him though. They played a cupcake week 1 and had an easy win.

What are your concerns for the game against the Red Wolves?

I'm sure Gus knows their weakness.

Malzahn knows their weaks and strengths. It should be an easier win than WSU.

My concerns. Can we move the ball consistently and can we get off the field on 3rd downs

I hope Ellis Johnson can game plan around Jake Holland. The dude is still horrible and recorded zero stats last night.

We should see more of Cass this week and less of Holland/Frost combo.

ASU is going to run the ball, so our LBs will be much more important for the D. This worries me a bit.

Jake holland.

Seriously. I have no doubts that Marshall will be improved next week and I was impressed by the conditioning and fundamentals of our defense. We have some damn good running backs with some awareness on the field. But frick Holland and his no talent arse.

I don't really know enough to comment intelligently about Arky State.

I do think we will look a lot better. Our offensice mistakes are easily correctable. Nick settles down and his a few deep throws and receivers hold onto the ball, I expect the offense to look a lot better.

D played better in the second half as well and Monty was a beast.

So, I expect a much better game on our end but don't know much about Arky State.

Do we not have anybody that can play this position? I mean seriously?

There's Frost. Of course, he couldn't get off a block last night - got blown up on 2 rushing TDs and several other runs. Looked like he was on skates. We'll see how he does when he's not dropping back towards coverage before the handoff, but I was not impressed at all.

Apparently not and the guy that was supposed to is picking splinters out of his arse at bama, probably for the next two years.

I'm not sure. I quit watching when our game started, but did not see him up until that point.

I'm less worried about ASU than I was with Washington St. WSU is a very well coached team and plays the style we've struggled with in the past. I was terrified the defense was going to get torched last night.

My concerns will be our LB's. I feel better about he DL with Adams and Bradley getting more time. I am concerned about our WiR's not stepping up and making plays. I feel NM will have an improved game, and our running game will do well.

I still feel confident we will win.

If Holland can't do any better than this -- which is highly likely -- I wonder if Johnson would consider moving Cassanova to MLB and Garrett to the Will and continue with Therezie at the Star position.

I certainly hope so. We're going to get throttled up the middle in league games with Holland in there.

The biggest difference in ASU and WSU is Mike Leach. There's a reason Texas Tech was a top 25 team for the decade he was there and it wasn't necessarily talent. This was a team that returned most of their starters in his second year as coach. It's a very tough offense to defend even when they aren't hitting on all cylinders.

I also don't think we'll have to play dime as much as we did either, which helped open up their run game in the second half.

Does ASU still run the Malzahn spread?
