but they are going a little overboard right now. Regardless, I hope he has another great season and is in the running for the Heisman.

Wait, they didn't talk about the SEC before? I thought I read somewhere they're changing the name of their CFB coverage to College Football on SECSPN?

In all seriousness, they need to chill a bit. But that's not ESPN's nature; they thrive on exaggeration and being Prisoners of the Moment. Just telling the story and reporting isn't enough for ESPN..we have to "embrace debate" when there's nothing to debate

You put as much effort in this post as Clowney did in last night's game.

The commercial they had with the cheerleaders chanting Clowney's name and all the SEC qb's having nightmares about him was way over the top. I hope he didn't buy into his own hype too much.

I heard him say on an ESPN segment "I can't be blocked with two people, you better bring three." That comment suggests he is definitely buying into the hype about himself. I kind of remembered him as more of the quiet let my play do the talking kind of guy last year, but I think he is coming out of that shell a bit, for better or worse.

In the past they've been Big Ten homers, and it was obvious. They finally realized that they'd be better off financially teaming up with the SEC.

This is what ESPN does. They hype a guy up so much that there is no way he can live up to expectations. Then when he doesn't meet the expectations they'll add gas to the fire and watch him burn.
